Hi, I’m Beth…a DONA-trained Birth & Postpartum Doula with a heart for empowering women and supporting families as they grow. While I may be “newer” to the formal doula world, my passion and experience run deep. For decades, I’ve walked alongside families through pregnancy, birth, and the tender early days of parenthood—helping mamas feel seen, supported, and confident in their strength. I’m the proud mother of one amazing adult human who has flown the nest to the fresh air and beauty of the NC mountains. My journey into birth work began more than twenty years ago during my own pregnancy, when I discovered the transformative power of being truly supported and held in that sacred season. Since then, I’ve continued to learn and grow—earning my B.A. and M.Ed. in Education and gaining a wealth of hands-on experience nurturing families and little ones. My deep interest in natural health, social–emotional development, and attachment has inspired me to pursue further training in infant mental health, dyadic relationships, children’s yoga, and herbalism. Briana Smith is an Certified Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. Her advanced training and certifications include When Survivors Give Birth, Rebozo Use in Labor, Postpartum Belly Binding Professional, Systemic Racism & Implicit Bias in Perinatal Health, and Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness. Briana received her BS in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where her passion for maternal and reproductive health sparked. She went on to receive her MPH from East Carolina University. She has experience supporting couples, single parents, advanced maternal age, VBAC/VBA2C, sexual trauma and assault survivors, high and low risk births, cesarean births, and families who have experienced or are expecting a loss. Briana has extensive experience working as a doula and an educator in all of our local area hospitals, birth centers, and in home. She is passionate about providing evidence based, unbiased education and helping her clients to make their own informed decisions. Briana's open, direct, and honest communication style paired with her empathic, compassionate personality allows her to be the best advocate and support for families before, during, and after birth. Briana currently lives in Eastern Wake County (though she'll always be a northerner at heart!) My name is Phyllis Herbe, Certified Birth Doula, Military Spouse, and mother of 5 boys. Over the course of the last 10 years I have served unofficially as a prenatal, postpartum and birth doula for friends, family and acquaintances as they walked their journey into parenthood.
