My husband and I are considering hiring a postpartum doula during the first weeks when the baby comes home (we do not know yet if she will need NICU time and won't know until the birth). Hello, I plan to give birth at a hospital; this is my first time! I want to give birth unmedicated and be able to move freely and be active, the only medication I considered is laughing gas and I plan to use a birth comb and breathing techniques. My current practice has a less than ideal reputation but I was unable to move to the OBGYN that I wanted due to how far along I am and I am not sure if I can just go to the other hospital that I prefer once I go into labor. I wanted to labor in warm water but my current OBGYN/hospital doesn’t offer this. I am seeking someone to support me during my labor and intervene if I’m pressured to do something that I do not want. I am not seeking prenatal/postpartum visits or lactation assistance. My insurance is Tricare East - Reserve Select. Thank you!

As I will be a single Momma by choice I’m looking for support, advocacy, and coaching during the labor/delivery, which is my primary concern. I’m a healthy woman will be giving birth at age 52.

I am giving birth at OSU with the midwives. I am keeping the same midwife throughout pregnancy (rather than meeting with lots of them), so am expecting an unknown midwife at the birth. Because of this, I want to have the consistency of a doula I know will be at the birth. This is my 2nd birth. It was helpful to have a doula the first time for tips and tricks and to give my husband ideas and I hope for the same again. I had an unmedicated vaginal birth last time and hope to do the same again. We have Tricare insurance and ideally would find someone covered by insurance.

As if right now plan to go Grove City Mount Carmel, VBAC try unmedicated for less risks . C-Section was 7/29/24. Will be roughly 22m apart. C-section reason stayed 5-6cm dilated and fetal tachycardia with medication. Tried everything for a couple hours nurses recommended. Budget just depends on ranges no idea how much the prices are .
