First baby - hoping for low interventions and unmedicated. Not sure if I am ready to commit to unmedicated though. Either way, I'd like to stay unmedicated as long as possible/as long as is safe. I know very little about labor/birth and have been afraid of it for a while. I'd like someone who is well versed in physical support, and of course mental/emotional support and birth education. I have somewhat of a distrust of doctors and want someone who knows the data on when things are necessary, and when things are not necessary. My husband is pretty squeamish and he may need some mental support too. I am a patient of the midwives at Orange Coast Womens Medical Group and I plan to give birth at HOAG Irvine. I am looking for a birth doula, a lactation consultant, and possibly a postpartum doula. I live in Fullerton, CA - looking for in person services.

Hi, I’m looking for a lactation consultant that dealt with women that had issues breastfeeding before. I have a 3 year old toddler now and am due with baby boy this November. I have United healthcare insurance. I’m not sure if this is covered, but figure I’d start the process. I’m delivering in Pomona Valley hospital and maybe they also have lactation consultants too. I’m not sure, but would love for someone to come to my home and check all the different pumps and flanges I have and perhaps measure me. I want to make sure I’m doing it right this second time around since first time, [personal details hidden] so I was supplementing with formula until I stopped breastfeeding after 4 months.

we have been trying to transition our 4+mo breastfed baby to one bottle for a few weeks with little to no success and seeking some expertise. She did take a bottle at 2mo a few times when offered. We’ve tried different bottles flows warming/cold positions environments etc with different people offering (myself husband and doula). [personal details hidden] She sometimes will allow the bottle in her mouth and took a total of 5 ounces with my husband and the doula while I was at work over a 13 hour period. When she does allow the bottle in her mouth she has trouble latching, or may begin fussing and crying. She often makes a yucky face but will try again. She seems to prefer the nipple and milk warmed. Hi! I’m reaching out because I’ve been exclusively pumping using stimulation mode on my Motif wearable pump for the past 4 months. I have inverted nipples, my milk supply is low and both my nipples and areola get pulled into the flange while pumping. I recently tried expression mode and I have some pain during it. I’m wondering if I may have elastic nipples, if my flange size is incorrect, or if I’m using my pump properly. I’d love some guidance on whether I’m pumping correctly and how to make pumping more comfortable and effective. Thank you
