My husband and I are both pediatricians (but specialists). This is our first child (a boy)! We plan to deliver at Mayo Clinic. Birth plan consists of a hospital birth, most likely an epidural, and we are open to the care that the doctors recommend. We are not sure yet if we will need a night nurse, but we wanted to meet with a couple of people in the case that we do decide that we could really use the help. We are hoping to spend under $700 for a 12 hour shift (or less if the time is shorter than 12 hours). We are not sure if we would want someone for just a night or two here and there, or for a full 1-2 weeks straight. We will also have help from my parents and then my husband's parents once my parents leave.

I need nighttime childcare support to get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I currently am experiencing Postpartum Anxiety and Mood Disorder due to my concurrent bipolar disorder. Because my family has limited nighttime availability, we need additional help when my family cannot cover the nighttime.
