I am 18 weeks pregnant with my first child here in Maryland. I have a strong support system with my husband and family. Seeking a doula that can help me have the best experience during the preparation (including workouts and stretching), birth, and postpartum. I will need assistance on making a birthing plan. I've considered home birth, birthing center, and hospital. My overall goal is to be comfortable (if I need to squat to have the baby, so be it and not forced to stay on my back) and supported. I would like the umbilical cord to stay attached as well. I am learning as I go.

I want to feel confident, know my rights and know that someone is there to speak up for me when I may be unable to or uncertain. I plan on having a birth plan created. I do not have an estimated budget as im not sure what that would be. But I do plan to try and use my insurance if possible.
Haven’t figured this out yet so it is to be determined
Just learned you are in network with my insurance Carefirst. Looking for birth support for baby #3 and postpartum support. My previous two births were vaginal unmedicated births. No complications with this pregnancy.
We’re moving midway through the pregnancy to the DC region, Maryland side. We’ll probably live in the Rockville area but I’m hoping to give birth with the midwives at George Washington University’s hospital. I’m looking for a labor doula to support an unmediated birth. I also struggled with low supply with my first child so I’m hoping to find a lactation consultant who specialises in that. We have Tricare, which covers both doulas and IBCLCs.
