About Hannah

Hi, I'm Hannah. I've been in birth work for 20 years, though I've been passionate about birth for as long as I can remember. As a registered nurse (with labor and delivery experience) certified doula, childbirth educator, and life coach, I focus on helping you feel empowered and supported throughout the process of your pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum. I'm a mom of six boys, myself and have experienced both hospital and home birth personally. I know first hand how birth can imprint and shape the mind and memory and make every effort to assure my mamas experience birth as beautiful! I co-founded and work with a partnership of doulas in Michiana - Birth Doulas of Michiana.

Hi! I'm Hannah. Imagine experiencing a birth where you feel beautiful - powerful, strong, and in control. Imagine going into your labor with confidence. Imagine looking back on your the birth of your baby with joy, delight, and satisfaction. Imagine sharing your story with passion and encouraging other women to experience the same! This doesn't have to be simply wishful thinking - it can become your reality! I am a registered nurse, a certified doula, doula educator, professional life coach (with a focus in mental health) and a photographer. With six years experience as a nurse in a labor and delivery unit, I saw up close and personal the effects of fear, lack of education, and lack of preparation for childbirth. Laboring women would come in with inaccurate expectations and ill-prepared to handle the marathon that they were about to run. I have been passionate about birth for as long as I can remember! I am a mother of six boys, and I have experienced six unique, beautiful, peaceful and enjoyable births! I've discovered that birth is a whole-person experience, and in order to have the birth you've always dreamed, you have to prepare mind, body, and soul! I would highly recommended Hannah Norton to any of my friends or family who are pregnant and looking for a kind, knowledgable, and experienced doula! Our experience with Hannah far exceeded ecxpectations. Her response time to questions and concerns was very timely and she welcomed any questions without hesitations. Having access to the whole Birth Doulas of Michiana cohort and all their specialties was an added bonus. It was a joy and comfort having her as our doula throughout our whole pregnancy.

I went into my pregnancy very nervous as my husband and I had recently moved across the states and had no family or friends near and I already suffered from anxiety but finding Hannah’s doula services was exactly what I needed! She was so kind and comforting from the beginning to the end. We also took her birthing classes and learned so much about what to expect in the coming days, my husband loved the class too and her husband even spoke about how to deal with some of the anxiety and that was so helpful for us! On the day of delivery things didn’t necessarily go as planned but Hannah showed up and I felt a sense of peace with her by my side and I am so grateful she was there to witness the birth of my beautiful boy. I can’t recommend Hannah’s services enough, she is knowledgeable and all around an amazing person! 10/10

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide medical services?

No, as a doula my focus is physiologic and emotional support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As a doula, I provide supplementary services to you primary provider.

Can you take insurance?

While I cannot directly bill insurance, I can take HSA and FSA card payments. And if your insurance covers doula services, you can then request reimbursement for the fees you have paid.
