"Hi, I'm Islamiyyah Jenmi-Lasisi, founder of Bloom Perinatal Services and a Certified Full Spectrum Birth and Postpartum Doula serving families across all of Illinois and beyond. HIPAA, cultural competency, trauma informed care, CPR/BLS Certified I became a doula because I lived what you may be going through right now. As a mother of three, I know what it feels like to bring a baby into this world and need real support, someone to hold your hand, answer your questions at 2AM, sit with you through the hard moments, and celebrate the beautiful ones. I watched mothers in my community especially Black mothers on Chicago's South Side go through pregnancy and birth without the support they deserved. I saw the fear. I saw the loneliness. I decided to be the person they needed. At Bloom, I offer continuous birth support, postpartum recovery care, prenatal visits, newborn visit facilitation, and baby relief hours because YOU matter, not just the baby. I serve ALL families with warmth, cultural sensitivity, and zero judgment. Illinois Medicaid will be accepted starting September. Private pay welcome. I come to you wherever you are. Birth & Postpartum Doula packages and pricing

Prenatal Support Package

Two dedicated prenatal visits. We create your personalized birth plan, discuss comfort measures, breathing techniques, and prepare you and your support person for birth. You leave feeling informed, confident, and ready.

$150 USD · Flat rate

Birth Support Package

Continuous uninterrupted labor and delivery support from active labor through birth. Physical comfort, emotional encouragement, advocacy with your medical team, and honored attention to your personal preferences. Available at all Chicago hospitals and birth centers.

$1,400 USD · Flat rate

Postpartum Hourly Support

Flexible postpartum support at the hourly rate, available for daytime or overnight hours. In-home visits focused on your healing and peace of mind, with newborn care education, breastfeeding guidance, emotional support, and practical household help so you can rest and recover properly.

$40 USD · Per hour

Do you accept Illinois Medicaid?

Yes! I am a State Certified Illinois Medicaid Doula (Cert. #0715260834). Many of my services are covered at no cost to qualifying Medicaid members. Contact me to confirm your eligibility before booking.

What areas do you serve?

I serve families across Chicago's North Side, South Side, and all of Illinois and surrounding areas. Travel fees may apply beyond 30 miles from Calumet Park.

What is the difference between a birth doula and a postpartum doula?

A birth doula supports you during labor and delivery. A postpartum doula comes to your home after baby arrives to support your recovery, newborn care, and emotional wellbeing. I offer both.

Are you available for overnight support?

Yes. I offer overnight postpartum support at $320 per night covering 8-10 hours. I handle all newborn care so you can sleep.

What certifications do you hold?

I hold DNT Network Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Newborn Care Specialist certifications. I am also certified in CPR/BLS, HIPAA, Cultural Competency, and Trauma-Informed Care. I am a State Certified Illinois Medicaid Doula issued by SIU School of Medicine.

Do you support all types of births?

Absolutely. I support unmedicated births, epidural births, C-sections, VBACs, home births, and birth center births. I support all families regardless of background, religion, or family structure.

What if you are unavailable when I go into labor?

I maintain a backup doula arrangement to ensure you are never without support. Your care will always be covered.

Can I hire you for just postpartum support if I already delivered?

Yes. Postpartum doula support can begin at any point after birth. It is never too late to get the support you deserve.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. I understand finances can be a barrier. Contact me directly to discuss a payment plan or installments for my packages. Payment plans and installments are available for packages only — hourly services are billed per visit. No mother should go without support because of finances.
