About me

Hi I'm Iva! I am a newly certified Birth and Postpartum Doula located in Murfreesboro TN. Birth is my passion and I love to talk about it, read about it, and listen to others about it. Even more, I love to help and serve mothers who are about to go through it. Women are not meant to labor and birth alone- that is why it is my hope that I can be their hands and feet as they accomplish something that can be both hard and very beautiful work. I enjoy going outside with my husband and three little girls, reading good books, and eating good food.

Service introduction

When hired, I will schedule two prenatal visits with you in order to educate, prepare for birth, and answer ANY questions you might have. When it's time to have a baby I will assist you at home or in the hospital. During labor I will be there to help manage pain, if unmedicated, help labor move along if it seems to slow down (this includes rebozo, and acupressure techniques), and set a warm welcoming environment that will allow you to labor feeling safe. I will then stay post birth until you feel settled and then leave you to bond with your new family. After a week or two I will check in postpartum to see how you are, how breastfeeding is going, bring you a nourishing meal and just debrief your birth experience.
