In May of 2022 my husband and I witnessed the birth of our second baby girl, at home in total bliss. My husband was involved in hands on appointments in our home, tailored to us where he got to learn about maternal health, how to support /affirm your partner during pregnancy—and he delivered our baby alongside Midwife Kim, confident with her guidance. Not only did Midwife Kim-deliver an outstanding beside manner, traveling to and from our home for detailed, hands on visits where we discussed healthy habits for the type of birth we have in mind, birthing options, birthing challenges etc but she also saved my life. Following my peaceful, serene water birth at our home-a 12 hour labor, I encountered an unforeseen medical emergency where Midwife Kim stood 10 toes down to ensure that I made it through. She acted swiftly to cover the basics and make sure I was comfortable, ensured our baby was well and then made a call to 911. Here is where her policy came into place-we can’t have a baby unless we can get you to hospital quickly if something happens. And it did. Her actions while awaiting the ambulance saved me from bleeding out, panicking and going into shock. It didn’t end there, her team cared for my family while I was away being cared for at the hospital post birth. She stayed with me through an uneasy procedure and became my advocate. I would not be here if it were not for the fierce compassion and the wisdom of Midwife Kimberly. I am grateful for her work and the knowledge she fed me as a mother and the ways she supported me post birth and into my postpartum period. She is a true pioneer in the birthing world and if you are medically able to-this is an experience you’ll definitely want to have.

My experience with Kimberley as my midwife is an experience I would advise any pregnant woman to experience. As a first time mom I was nervous not knowing anything about pregnancy and just by the first consultation my heart felt at ease. She’s has such a warm heart that makes you feel at home which is something I was praying to have. The amount of care, passion, patience, and attentiveness she has towards her clients is really admirable. She’s super smart and supportive, she stands for what’s right and makes sure you receive the care, information, and support you need. She doesn’t force anything upon you that you don’t want and she always find alternatives to make sure you’re comfortable. I don’t want to get too emotional, but I had to come on here and share what an amazing experience I had with Mrs. Kimberly, the owner, and her partner Mrs. Nefertiti, her doula. At first I was so scared to do a home birth. I kept telling my husband, “No, I can’t do it.” But after the experience we had at our hospital in Jacksonville, he told me we were going to do a home birth no matter what. Looking back now, all I can say is God is so good, and it’s amazing that I’m here today to share this story. I would recommend a home birth to every mother instead of going to the hospital. My recovery was amazing. When I went into labor, I didn’t even realize I was in labor until I was already around 7½ cm. I had a water birth, and OMG… words can’t even express how natural and peaceful it really was. My baby was out in just two pushes with the help of Mrs. Kim and her doula. When my baby was finally in my arms, I cried while thanking both of them. I truly couldn’t believe I had done it at home. This company is so special. If you follow Mrs. Kim’s guidance, you will be amazed at how smooth the experience can be. I recommend her over the hospital. I loved working with Kimberly as my midwife. I have used her services for both of my pregnancies and she made both experiences enjoyable and coached me through it the entire way.

After 3 vastly different labor and delivery experiences, Crowning Midwifery helped us experience an amazingly smooth homebirth. My water broke at round 12am and our baby girl was earthside at 3:45am. Due to 2 c sections and a traumatic hospital vaginal delivery I wanted to labor in my own space peacefully. I was able to do just that. Crowning Midwifery helped me get cleaned up and tucked me into my own bed after. All of my appts were in the comfort of my home and ranged from 1 and half hours to 2 hours. I didn’t have to fight traffic, pay for parking or wait 2 hours in a waiting room. These are all things I did in my fist pregnancy. My appt felt like a meet up with a friend. I have the most respect for doctors and nurses but you are not going to get the one on one level of care that you will receive from Crowning Midwifery. I know that midwifery was almost erased due to greed by the hospital systems and not that it is dangerous or obsolete. I was able to to breath through each contraction and manage my discomfort. If you are looking for a midwife that is knowledgeable and provides one on one care Crowning Midwifery is it. 1,000 out 10 would recommend.

Having a home birth with Kim of Crowning Midwifery was truly the best decision I made for this pregnancy. I’ve had two unmedicated home births before, and while I knew I wanted another home birth, I was anxious about the pain I might experience during delivery. From the very beginning, Kim made sure I felt supported, informed, and comfortable. Her prenatal visits were thorough and incredibly convenient — she came right to my home, which was a lifesaver with two toddlers under four. As labor approached, my anxiety spiked and I even considered going to the hospital because of my previous birth experiences. Kim immediately came over, spoke life into me, grounded me, and encouraged me to surrender to the process. That conversation shifted everything. I felt confident again, and just hours later, labor began. My labor unfolded exactly the way I hoped it would. I focused on my breathing, stayed hydrated, ate snacks, listened to music, and rode each surge. When contractions were three minutes apart, Kim arrived with the birthing assistant, Nefertiti — and Nefertiti was a godsend. She helped me relax through transition, guided me into positions that helped baby descend, and supported me with such calm expertise. Within three surges, I was pushing. When baby crowned, I breathed and allowed my body to do the work. The “ring of fire” was nonexistent — truly pain‑free — and I didn’t tear at all. It was the most peaceful, empowered labor and delivery I’ve ever had. Kim and Nefertiti were phenomenal. Their presence, skill, and encouragement made this birth everything I prayed for. I recommend them without hesitation and have already referred several pregnant women I know. If I conceive again, I will absolutely choose Kim’s care. Booking was easy, her pricing is fair, and her support is unmatched. Crowning Midwifery deserves every bit of these five stars. Being a first-time mom and aware of the disparities that often surround African American women in the birth space, I wanted a supportive and empowering birth experience, so I began exploring the possibility of having a home birth with a midwife. During my research, I came across Midwife Kim, and from the initial consultation I knew she was the one I wanted to help bring my daughter into this world. Her care, education, expertise, and personality were truly exceptional and made the entire process so much easier. What midwife do you know who will pull you out of the house to go to the gym and grab a good green juice afterward as part of your appointment? 😂Even when finances became tight, she was willing to work with me, and I truly appreciate her for that. She truly cares about the whole person, not just the pregnancy. I would recommend her to anyone and will definitely be using her again in the future. Because of the care she provided and the experience I had, I was inspired to enter the field of Maternal and Child Health, and I love every minute of it.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kim. From the very beginning she made me feel safe, heard, and supported.
