I’m navigating pregnancy mostly on my own, so having someone experienced and supportive during birth is really important to me. I want a dula because I need someone to educate me and my husband on pregnancy, labor, and after birth. I need someone to stand by me who knows the laws of the hospital just in case something were to happen and I have to give birth in the hospital but my goal now is to have my baby at home with my midwife and dula I hire.
