My husband and I are looking for a bilingual speaking doula (spanish & english). We live in south brooklyn, but the delivery will be in the city NYP. We would like a the doula that is familiar with hypnobirthing and to be present to support us both and some hours for Post-Partum care during the week. My birthplan includes hypnotherapy techniques, soft dim lighting and music, i would like laughter and peacefulness during the natural birth. This is our first baby, so i dont know what a bugdet for doula services would be, but we do live on a tight budget. My husband has Medicaid so I wonder if his insurance can cover some of the cost.

I am a trans man. I am seeking a birth doula who is invested in supporting trans pregnancy and the many complications of experiencing dysphoria in pregnancy, and supporting my needs as a trans parent through the birthing process. Additionally, I have hypertension and rheumatoid arthritis, and persistent proteinuria and am seeing a high risk doctor for my birth. I would like to have a non-c-section in the hospital setting with my MFM practice, and be supported in my needs as a gestational parent and birthing person. Also I would like a doula who is equipped to support my wife as non-gestational parent and new queer parents. We have dealt with loss (she had an early miscarriage when we TTC'd earlier in life) and this has impacted my experience of pregnancy as well. I plan to give birth at NYU Langone. Our estimated budget for a doula is $2500, but we are just starting this journey and are open to alternatives.

Hey! So I'm planning my 3rd birth. The first was an emergency c- section and the second also a c-section, 4yrs ago. I had a very unsupportive/hands off midwife previously. I've found an amazing midwife this time and am planning a VBAC. Currently planning a birthing center birth (birthing center is in Bastrop Texas) but considering homebirth.. I'm not supper stuck on a particular bith plan. My goal is a healthy baby and a bit of redemption from my previous births that didn't go the way I planned at all. I'm a Christian, mildly crunchy farm mom who just wants a calm, peaceful birth resulting in a healthy baby and minimal trauma! 😅 I'm looking for a support person to remind me I am capable and keep me focused. I had post partum depression last time so some postpartum support may be good for me, although I have more family support this time too! We don't have insurance. I don't know what a doula costs typically, that's part of why I'm reaching out, to see if this could be an option for us. Thanks!!

We are looking for a postpartum doula that will be able to come to the house (Park Slope, Brooklyn, 11215) as soon as baby arrives home and help us feel confident with baby care - bath, diaper change, holding baby etc. also give us advice and support about feeding baby - breastfeeding/pumping/formula feeding. We will want to start at 4-5 times a week for 4-5 hours for the first couple of weeks and then reduce the frequency gradually. At the beginning we are looking for daytime visits but we might be interested in occasional night time visits.
