Looking for a doula to help with birth and postpartum care. Lactation consultant is a plus but lower in priority. I plan to give birth vaginally in a hospital with an epidural. I am hoping for guidance on additional pain management techniques, birthing positions, and what I can do ahead of time to prep for birthing and postpartum. I will be delivering at Kaiser Permanence on Sunset and have Kaiser insurance.

I plan to give birth at a hospital. 2. Kaiser has listed the following doula services covered by my plan: -One initial visit -Up to eight one-hour visits that may be provided in any combination of prenatal and postpartum visits -Support during labor and delivery -Up to two additional postpartum visits may be available. They also say that: "for doula services to be covered by the Health Plan, the doula must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and a Tax Identification Number (TIN)." And that "the doula must file a claim for reimbursement." 3. I'm still thinking this through and would like a little help with this! I want a hospital birth. I want to keep and capsule my placenta. I'd like to labor for awhile at home and to try to not use an epidural, but am open to it if I feel I need it. I want to be able to move around. I want soft music playing and a gentle atmosphere. Maybe calming essential oils. I'd like to breastfeed.

Looking to have a home unassisted birth. I want to make sure i am. healthy to do so. I would like advice on the least amount of medical involvement during labor. This is my second child, my first will be 4 by the time baby arrives. Had a very hard postpartum with my first and want this time to be different and hope to avoid severe postpartum mental health by getting the assistance of a doula during birth and a night doula postpartum for a few days a week for the first weeks.
