Looking for a doula to help with birth and postpartum care. Lactation consultant is a plus but lower in priority. I plan to give birth vaginally in a hospital with an epidural. I am hoping for guidance on additional pain management techniques, birthing positions, and what I can do ahead of time to prep for birthing and postpartum. I will be delivering at Kaiser Permanence on Sunset and have Kaiser insurance. |

Hi there! My husband and I are seeking a doula for our first pregnancy/birth/postpartum. The doula we are looking for is gentle and nurturing... and accepts Kaiser insurance. 1. I plan to give birth at a hospital. 2. Kaiser has listed the following doula services covered by my plan: -One initial visit -Up to eight one-hour visits that may be provided in any combination of prenatal and postpartum visits -Support during labor and delivery -Up to two additional postpartum visits may be available. They also say that: "for doula services to be covered by the Health Plan, the doula must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and a Tax Identification Number (TIN)." And that "the doula must file a claim for reimbursement." 3. I'm still thinking this through and would like a little help with this! I want a hospital birth. I want to keep and capsule my placenta. I'd like to labor for awhile at home and to try to not use an epidural, but am open to it if I feel I need it. I want to be able to move around. I want soft music playing and a gentle atmosphere. Maybe calming essential oils. I'd like to breastfeed. |

Looking to have a home unassisted birth. I want to make sure i am. healthy to do so. I would like advice on the least amount of medical involvement during labor. I am okay with monitoring my pregnancy via ultrasounds, scans, and bloodwork. I don't want to leave my house for the birth. I want to have a physiologically sound birth where I can be in my cozy space, dim lit for melatonin development and maybe with my partner. preferably no. one there to affect my hormones from flowing naturally. |

I am currently expecting my first child with a due date of April 26, and we are looking for a Postpartum Night Doula to support us during the initial weeks. Our primary goal is to have professional overnight care for our newborn so that we can focus on recovery and rest. We are currently looking for approximately 60–70 hours of total support. Additionally, our insurance (through Qualcomm) provides a $3,000 Doula benefit. We are looking for a partner who can provide the necessary documentation for reimbursement. Familiarity with the Qualcomm (UnitedHealthcare) claims process would be a significant plus. Before scheduling a formal interview, I would appreciate it if you could provide some information regarding the following: 1. Professional Experience & Care Overnight Experience: Could you share your experience specifically as a "Night Doula"? How do you typically support first-time parents in maximizing their rest? Safety (SIDS): Are you trained in and familiar with Safe Sleep Guidelines? How do you monitor the baby’s safety during your shift? Education & Coaching: Are you able to provide guidance on newborn care, such as breastfeeding support or infant bathing? 2. Communication & Administration Communication Style: How do you typically communicate updates to parents? (e.g., overnight logs, shift summaries, or daily reports?) Insurance Documentation: Can you provide detailed receipts or invoices for insurance reimbursement (including an NPI number or specific service codes if applicable)? Back-up Plan: In the event of an emergency or illness, do you have a back-up Doula who can cover your shifts? 3. Rates & Policies Rates & Deposit: What is your hourly rate, and do you require a deposit to secure the dates? Flexibility: Given that birth dates can be unpredictable, what is your policy regarding a baby arriving earlier or later than the due date? What is your cancellation policy? If you are available during late April and May, please let me know. If your background aligns with our needs, we would love to schedule a video call or an in-person meeting to discuss further. Thank you! |

We are having twins and I would love to work with a doula to help us prepare for the birth of twins as naturally as possible along with aftercare postpartum. This is my second child, my first will be 4 by the time baby arrives. Had a very hard postpartum with my first and want this time to be different and hope to avoid severe postpartum mental health by getting the assistance of a doula during birth and a night doula postpartum for a few days a week for the first weeks. I plan to give birth at a hospital. I had an epidural with my first and likely will with this one but would like to try to labor without for a bit so I can be mobile. |
