I am planning a home birth and am looking for a doula who can provide calm, steady and supportive care throughout both labor and the postpartum period. I really value a relaxed and comforting presence. Someone who helps me feel safe, grounded and supported during the experience. It’s also important to me that my doula respects and is open to my spiritual beliefs and is comfortable supporting that aspect of my birth in a natural and respectful way. My budget is around $1200. My birth plan is fairly simple. We’re aiming for a low-intervention, peaceful home birth environment and I’m looking for someone who aligns with that approach and can support both practically and emotionally throughout.

Hey! So I'm planning my 3rd birth. The first was an emergency c- section and the second also a c-section, 4yrs ago. I had a very unsupportive/hands off midwife previously. I've found an amazing midwife this time and am planning a VBAC. Currently planning a birthing center birth (birthing center is in Bastrop Texas) but considering homebirth.. I'm not supper stuck on a particular bith plan. My goal is a healthy baby and a bit of redemption from my previous births that didn't go the way I planned at all. I'm a Christian, mildly crunchy farm mom who just wants a calm, peaceful birth resulting in a healthy baby and minimal trauma! 😅 I'm looking for a support person to remind me I am capable and keep me focused. I had post partum depression last time so some postpartum support may be good for me, although I have more family support this time too! We don't have insurance. I don't know what a doula costs typically, that's part of why I'm reaching out, to see if this could be an option for us. Thanks!!

Hello! My name is Cate Jackson. I am currently 32 weeks with my first baby, it’s a girl, and I am so excited to be a mom. I am feeling both nervous and excited about giving birth. It is 100% my goal to have a natural birth. I am looking for the support of an understanding Doula that can help me feel more confident about going the natural route in a safe setting, whether that’s a hospital or at home, and if at a hospital can help me advocate for myself about the interventions hospital staff are trained to provide for births. I am trying my best to work on techniques like breathing and learning different positions to make natural birth manageable for my first time. My fear is the unknown of what to expect even though I’ve watched so many videos and listened to so many podcasts, I think every body is different. I want my birth experience to be as low intervention as possible, however having someone besides my partner to guide me through the intensity of it all would be a life saver. It would be my dream to be at a birthing center but i have not had any luck finding one that we would be able to afford, or insurance would cover. I plan to give birth at Saint Francis Hospital down in Tulsa. I have Soonerselect (Oklahoma Complete Health). My plan is to avoid the epidural and be as mobile as I can during labor/birth.
