About me

My name is Marcelle Crago, I am currently a lactation consultant and I’ve been an RN for 25 years. As mother of two, my breastfeeding experience, inspired me to pursue a career in supporting others in their parenting journey. Personally and professionally, I’ve seen the tremendous value of human milk in a young child’s life. Most of my career has focused on working with children and families in their homes through community-based programs as well as one-on-one visits. For 5 years, I oversaw a teen parent program at a Florida high school, initiating breast/chestfeeding support along with childbirth education to prepare mothers and their partners for their journey. As a result, teen parents breastfed their infants at a much higher rate than average. We saw a significant reduction in infections among babies in our program, which allowed parents to stay in school and complete their education. Making a difference in parents’ breast/chestfeeding experience in this extraordinary experience led me to pursue my certification in 2017 as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and eventually launch my business,Wholesome Lactation Care, PLLC. My community-based, holistic approach empowers parents and their family members on their journey. I bring 20 years of knowledge in herbalism and nutrition to benefit new families and create a custom experience for you. I specialize in home visits in the WNC region and virtual visits so that my clients can benefit from receiving support in the comfort of their home. In order to support as many families as possible, I now take multiple insurance plans.

Are you having problems with breast or chestfeeding? Or do you need help with pumping milk? I do home and virtual visits. I can help with any latching, low milk supply issues, painful feeds as well as prenatal consultations to be prepared and back-to-work consultations.
