With over ten years of experience with helping communities through health and wellness, Maria Varvoutis, 4th Trimester Doula, has often been called upon for her assets in creativity and flexibility. She obtained her B.S. in Health Education and her Master of Public Health in Global Health and Health Education in order to better serve a culturally diverse population. Her personal and professional experiences with working with families all over the globe added to her innate desire to help others through their birth and postpartum period while away from family and friends. ​ Maria, certified birth and postpartum doula through ProDoula, came into the field in the spring of 2021 and has been told that she 'has found her calling'. With a passion for empowering and bettering the lives of those around her, Maria strongly feels that the birth and postpartum periods should be one of nourishment, growth, and support. In order to better meet the needs of the clients that she serves, Maria acquired a certification in pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercises. This certification allows her to work with previous birthing individuals through pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti, SI joint pain, and low back pain. She has also completed the Birth Workers Education Course from MamasteFit to enhance her knowledge on the connection of the biomechanics of labor and delivery. ​Maria currently lives in Monterey, California with her husband, three kids, and a Siberian Husky. ​
