I plan to give birth at Christiana Care in northern Delaware. I’d like to find a doula that takes my insurance and can provide the 3 prenatal, 3 postnatal visits and labor/delivery support. I’m going to be a first time, single mom by choice and am not sure who, if anyone, will be in the delivery room with me and I’d like an advocate and someone I trust to help support and help me understand what is going on and my choices in real time. I’ve also never given birth before so someone that can help me figure out what to expect, what should even be included in a birth plan and what choices or things I should consider. I’m an older mom so someone with alot of experience is appreciated, but I value personality matching and a good fit more. As a single mom I will be happy for any and all additional help someone can provide, I anticipate being very overwhelmed those first few weeks. My provider is Highmark BCBS of DE. Thank you so much!

I plan to give birth in the hospital. I am not sure how much doulas really cost, so I would say my budget is about $1-2k. I haven’t created a birth plan yet. If the postpartum doula can speak gujarati, that would be great. The more experienced the better. I would like them to help with cooking, laundry tasks as I’ll have some older adults who have their recipes but they’d need help with these tasks (somebody can stir the food or cut it etc). This person should be able to go up and down the stairs.

Unfortunately, I haven't received the prenatal care I needed for much of my pregnancy due to switching OB-GYNs and dealing with other challenges. As a result, I've often felt dismissed during appointments, and it's been difficult to feel heard or supported by my medical providers. I'm hoping to find a doula who can be a supportive presence during the remainder of my pregnancy, help me prepare for birth, and provide reassurance and advocacy during labor and delivery. Delivering at Jersey Shore Hospital. Would like to try to have a natural birth without epidural. Want a certified doula that has been actively supporting births for at least 5 years. Would like support pre delivery, guidance on exercises, stretches and anything that can support comfort and preparation for delivery.

I am looking to give birth at the hospital but would really like a Doula to help advocate for me and how I want my birth to go with the least amount of intervention as possible. I would like to give birth in the hospital but with the least amount of intervention needed, no pitocin, delayed cord clamping, open to different birthing positions.
