I plan to give birth in Medicine Hat hospital. This with be my third time giving birth and after having complications with my first two births, I’m hoping to have someone there to advocate and speak up for me. I’m hoping to have minimal intervention from doctors/nurses - I believe being induced and frequent/unnecessary intervention (with my second which ended in emergency c-section) caused the complications. Being considered high risk now I feel like hospital staff will ignore my wants as they’ll feel they are doing what’s best. I am not totally sure about budget because I’m not sure what doulas usually cost!
Looking for a more holistic approach for my first pregnancy and birth. Heavily considering home birth. No Budget. Delayed cord clamping No vaccines Unmediated
I will be giving birth at the Lethbridge hospital. I was unable to get a midwife so I am looking at potentially getting a doula to support me in having an unmedicated birth. My fiance is extremely supportive and will want to do anything he can to help but he lacks the vast knowledge of different coping mechanisms that a doula would have.
I plan to give birth in the hospital. I never went into labour with my first baby because I ended having a c-section because she was breech. I really want to try for a VBAC and am very anxious that this birth may be like my first one My estimated budget is $1000 CAD I would like to have a VBAC. I am considering getting an epidural. I would rather not get induced. Mostly I want to avoid having another c-section
Im looking into what my options are for a doula in Lethbridge that maybe our insurance could cover the cost of? I don’t have a budget because we don’t really have extra funds to pay out of pocket so I’m mostly wondering if finding someone we can afford is even possible. I am planning on giving birth in lethbridge at the hospital, my dream is to be able to have a water birth or at least using a tub through labor and I hope to avoid getting an epidural. Other than that I don’t have much of a birth plan but hope a doula could help me know what to plan for and ask the questions I’ll need answers for!
I will be giving birth at the chinook Lethbridge hospital in Alberta. This is my second kid, first birth experience was extremely traumatic for me. I spent 3 days in hospital getting induced, 12 hours of labour after my water broke, pushed for an hour, then emergency c section. I need someone knowledgeable that can vouch for me, coach me, and help my husband be more supportive. My birth plan is natural, most likely getting an epidural, and my budget is around $650
Planning for at home, but willing to reevaluate to hospital if needed -$1000? - I havent fully put it together yet
I will be giving birth in Drumheller AB. This is my first pregnancy. I am unsure of the average cost of a doula but we are on a bit of tight budget. I am hoping to give birth vaginally (not opposed to epidural) but am also willing to have a c section if needed.
Looking for support for my labour and delivery. Someone who can accommodate my needs and coach/assist me through this. I’m looking to have a minimal- no intervention water birth and would be important to have someone who is experienced in this. This is my second pregnancy; my last delivery was unmedicated (besides pitocin) delivered vaginally with no complications. I am set up to give birth at the hospital at this moment but if I did happen to find a midwife/doula I would be interested in a home birth if I had the right supports set up. My estimated budget would be 900-1200$ Here is my detailed birth plan so far if I do end up giving birth in the hospital. Birth plan: -Low lights, fairy lights electric candles set up sound healing music. -Breathe through contractions -No epidural, Water birth. Maybe laughing gas if pain is really bad. -Absolutely no being induced -Natural water rupture. -No membrane sweep. -Privacy minimal staff in room no students.(having students learn while in labour made me stressed and feel uneasy) -Intermittent monitoring not continuously monitoring. -Delay cord clamping 7-15 min. Cord is white -Are cervix checks necessary? Only checked if requested by me -Do I have to stay in hospital if I had no interventions? -Naturally birth placenta, no pitocin or cord traction. -Wait for my body to push on its own no forced pushing. -No fundal massage unless there excessive bleeding. -Vitamin k drops not injected.
South health $1500 budget Vaginal delivery + epidural
Plan to birth at south health campus. This is my first pregnancy. I am unsure if I want a epidural or not. I would like support post-partum. I may want support during delivery. Budget $600-$1000
1. Where do you plan to give birth (home/hospital)? Hospital. 2. Provide your estimated budget Our estimated budget for doula support is $1,500. We are most interested in meaningful support that focuses on emotional reassurance, breastfeeding guidance, and helping us adjust during the early postpartum period. 3. Describe your birth plan This is my first baby, so I’m keeping my birth plan flexible and open-minded. My main goal is to feel calm, supported, and informed throughout the process. I plan to give birth in a hospital and would like to aim for a low-intervention birth if possible, while fully trusting medical guidance if plans need to change. Emotional support and reassurance are very important to me, especially as someone who can feel anxious in new situations. My priorities include: Feeling supported and advocated for during labor My partner being involved and supported as well Skin-to-skin contact after birth if possible Support with early breastfeeding and latching A calm, positive environment that helps reduce stress and overwhelm I value guidance, reassurance, and gentle encouragement over a rigid birth plan, and I’m looking for support that helps me feel confident as I transition into motherhood.
Hospital birth unmedicated hopefully. Not sure of budget. Birth plan is flexible but I would like to try to labor at home for as long as possible then transition to the hospital
