We are planning to have a home (maybe a water) birth. Our budget is around 6,000-7,000. Our pregnancy will be at 9 weeks on Wednesday Feb. 4th. As it is our first pregnancy, we will be leaning on professionals for guidance. Possibly dealing with BV (have a history of that) and want to be seen for that before too long as we know it can cause complications if left untreated.

I would like to give birth at home. I have a huge fear of medical interventions given for childbirth in the hospitals after having a traumatic first birth in hospital. I may need help with informed decisions a long the way, but am most concerned about having help with maybe the last few weeks leading up to birth (I tend to get depressed) and the birthing process itself. I’d like to birth at home not in water when baby is ready with no intervention at all. Delayed cord clamping until cord is completely white. No eye ointment or vit k. I have taken hypnobirthing classes for a previous birth and would like to incorporate that again. I have no clue what even the cost of such services would look like, but am trying to not put too much of a price on the services as I am having trouble getting a midwife and Windsor and am fearful of what I will do if I don’t find one as I have a terrible fear of facing medical intervention and going to the hospital when in labour.

I am looking for a doula who is supportive, knowledgeable, and confident in advocating for me in a hospital setting. I want a calm, peaceful, and empowering birth experience. My ideal environment includes dim lighting, soothing music, and a relaxed atmosphere. I am hoping for a natural, low intervention birth (water birth if possible) with a focus on breathing techniques, movement, and holistic comfort measures. I am looking for someone with an earthy, holistic approach who values education, informed consent, and emotional support. I want a doula who will help prepare me mentally and physically before birth and also provide guidance and support postpartum. Advocacy is very important to me I want someone who will help me feel heard, respected, and safe throughout the entire process.
