I plan to give birth at a hospital. I’m open to pricing conversations. This is my first time as a mom so I don’t know where to begin with budget talks. I want to labor at home as long as I can with support before going to the hospital to reduce interventions that are unnecessary. I want to try my best not to have an epidural. I want to be free to be in different positions to help the baby move through. Afterwards i don’t want to be rushed to cut the umbilical cord or have them push on my stomach to force the placenta out. I want it to happen naturally and if interventions are needed that’s the only time I want to consider. I do want to try my best to breastfeed but I don’t want to strictly nurse. I’m interested in pumping and possibly combo feeding.

Hello! My name is Cate Jackson. I am currently 32 weeks with my first baby, it’s a girl, and I am so excited to be a mom. I am feeling both nervous and excited about giving birth. It is 100% my goal to have a natural birth. I am looking for the support of an understanding Doula that can help me feel more confident about going the natural route in a safe setting, whether that’s a hospital or at home, and if at a hospital can help me advocate for myself about the interventions hospital staff are trained to provide for births. I am trying my best to work on techniques like breathing and learning different positions to make natural birth manageable for my first time. My fear is the unknown of what to expect even though I’ve watched so many videos and listened to so many podcasts, I think every body is different. I want my birth experience to be as low intervention as possible, however having someone besides my partner to guide me through the intensity of it all would be a life saver. It would be my dream to be at a birthing center but i have not had any luck finding one that we would be able to afford, or insurance would cover.
