This is my first pregnancy, so I’m looking for someone who can guide me and my partner through the process, be an expert sounding board, and to advise us. I have not confirmed just yet but will likely give birth at UMass Memorial in Worcester. My insurance Cigna covers Doula services so hoping to leverage this for payment. I ideally want a natural birth but want to connect with the doula for advice.

I would prefer a home birth or a birth center. I am looking for very low intervention, skin-on-skin for the first hour after birth, a slower process without all of the bright lights, and very minimal medications. We don’t have an estimated budget yet.

I am having a hospital birth due to being considered "high-risk," but I'd like as natural an experience as possible and want my wants and needs to be taken seriously. From what I've seen doulas cost around $1.5k, so I'm willing to pay around that amount. I want as few interventions as possible and to not be pressured into anything (epidural, inducement, etc.). I would like to be able to choose what positions I'm most comfortable in during birth rather than being forced onto my back, if possible.
