My husband & I just moved to Paducah from St. Louis, I had wanted to give birth at a birth center, but there aren't any around. This is my first pregnancy, we're very excited. So I am looking for support, information, and help to have a birth with as least intervention as possible. I believe in the woman's body being equipped with all it needs to do things naturally (of course there are exceptions). We just met with Baptist Health, I have not viewed their labor and delivery but it is seeming like there are limited options, perhaps a doula could help me understand better my options around here.

Giving birth at MoBap. I’d like some information on how to push during labor without straining/increasing risk of hemorrhoids and tearing. This is my second pregnancy and I had painful hemorrhoids for months with my first. I also damaged my pelvic floor and the healing process took a long time. I plan to have a low dose epidural. I don’t care for overly fear based approaches, being strictly natural or worrying about things that have a low likelihood so I’ll do well with someone who is down to earth, practical and open to various approaches to labor.

I am a surrogate in the early stages right now. I'm interested in looking into a doula possibly for the journey, or even just the birth. W have to give birth in a hospital due to it being a surrogacy journey, but I'd like as natural of a birth as possible. Both of my children were home water births with midwives.
