My partner Janet wants to do a home birth. We are a newer couple and want to do everything as well as we can. We are both low income looking for affordable and natural methods for doing a home birth. I’m not sure what kind of budget to expect but I will be moving up to Berkeley starting a new unknown job to be with her asap. She is a gender and women’s studies major and I’m very inexperienced in this field but want to do everything I can as her partner to get her what she needs.

We plan to give birth at Kaiser Oakland hospital, and we are interested in finding a doula who accepts Kaiser insurance. We are interested in a birth with minimal medication. We are a queer couple (cis woman and trans woman), and would love to work with someone who wants to support queer families.

All natural and as quick as possible lol This is my 4th baby, I barely have time to go to kaiser's prenatal appts, am I allowed to use my 2 prenatal appts as stretching/ massage in my 3rd trimester? A birth doula to help me advocate for a natural birth, I had 2 positive births at kaiser, at my last my 3 year old daughter wanted to see and witnessed her little sister be born. I did have my placenta encapsulated last time and thought it made a huge difference! Is that covered by medi cal? Or an extra fee? I think I want to use those other 8 appts as postnatal appts! Im still breastfeeding my 1 year old and plan to breastfeed throughout the pregnancy, then tandem feed, I'm pretty confident in that area but am constantly doing stuff for everyone else, I'd love a massage or someone to cook dinner and clean the kitchen, maybe help with the older kids bedtime routine if the baby isn't on the same schedule, or help making breakfast and packing up lunch one morning so the rest of the day feels easier, it's going to be the middle of summer! Im looking for a patient advocate who will respect my non invasive birth plan including denying vaccinations during my hospital stay, trying for a natural birth, and a calm environment.
