Hey heyyy, my name is Jessica. I need support (other than my husband) to help guide me through my first birthing process. I’ve always dreamed of having a home birth, but I’m a little nervous when it comes to me or my baby needing medical assistance. I don’t really have an estimated budget considering I’m a first time mom and I don’t have any experience with doulas. Whenever it’s time to give birth, I want to be as comfortable as possible. The number 1 thing I absolutely need is prayers. No bright lights, very calm and relaxing space, no extra people in the room (such as students), i don’t want to give birth on my back, i would love for my doula to massage me while im contracting, i do NOT want to be induced, I want to wait until the umbilical cord is WHITE before cutting, I want to be the first to touch my baby not the nurses, I also want to keep my placenta and let it come out on its own time just like my baby did.

I don't mind a hospital birth but I want an advocate there to coach me through labor and make sure the staff carry out my wishes even the baby is born. I want as little medical intervention as possible. I prefer natural medicine in every way. I have no idea what a midwife would cost and that is another concern

Trying to breastfeed for longer than six months. With my first two I stopped due to not producing enough and believe pumping made it worse. Might possibly want help cooking.

I plan on birthing at woman’s hospital. I want to try and go without epidural the longest I possibly can but I do eventually want to get the epidural due to the fear of possibly tearing and feeling the stitching up part. The hospital choice isn’t finalized but HCA psl is a contender. I don’t know what my budget is realistically because I’m not sure how pricing works for this service. I would prefer a doula and midwife with 10+years. If the also speak French or creole that’s a plus for me. I’m 28 having my first child and need help getting the home fully ready and a spokesperson at the birth. Post-partum help will be needed but sadly i can only based when i need service based on how the pricing looks. I would like to know hourly rate and go from there budget wise
