Hello, I am Carmen Victoria, a local Doula in South Jersey. Originally from Havana, Cuba, but somewhere along the way ended up in Kingston, Jamaica. Over time, my education and family ended up in Florida. I came to Tallahassee and graduated twice from Florida A&M University, most recently with my Master of Public Health. My field of study and passion is Maternal and Infant Health. In 2022, I took a leap of faith and completed the Doula Workshop Training from Capital City Doula. I am proud to say I reside in Tallahassee with my beautiful family. I hope to continue to service the community and help all mothers feel comfortable and confident with their birth process.

I was called to serve families postpartum after experiencing deeply nourishing and restorative postpartum doula care during those first few weeks with my son. I love providing new families with the gift of time to bond with their new child and of a steady presence to build their parenting confidence alongside. I serve new families by anticipating and attending to the many changing needs in the early postpartum period - rest and recovery from birth, facilitating baby-parent bonding, setting up the home to service new baby care, baby care guidance and truly finding your confidence and intuition as a parent.

I have been so blessed to have jobs I have loved all my life - wife, mother, grandmother, registered nurse, pregnancy care center director, lactation consultant and certified postpartum doula. It is hard to believe it has been over 48 years since nursing school. Though I would never have thought so in nursing school, my focus has always been all things moms, babies and families. ​This journey has taken me from basic knowledge of how babies are born to a deep respect of the profound changes that take place within the childbearing family, because we are so fearfully and wonderfully made.

I have extensive knowledge in the medical field and have a degree in Biology from Rutgers University. I believe that every mom should be in charge of her birth process. Although, every birth is unique and some may not go as plan it is important for me as your doula to assist you in any way that I can to make sure you feel empowered, in control, and heard throughout your birthing experience. Once we decide to work together I always like to know a little bit more about my moms and what their dos and donts consist of when in the birthing room. My name is Victoria Elias and I’m a birth doula and the owner of Nurtured Motherhood. Nurtured Motherhood provides premier doula services to all of North Jersey with expertise, nurturance, and compassion. I provide individualized care that includes up to two prenatal visits, prenatal phone consultations, support during active labor, one hour of care following baby’s birth, and I will conduct one postpartum visit. My goal is to help mothers feel very nurtured, empowered, and as relaxed and comfortable as possible while they give birth and I tailor my care to her individual needs and desires.
