Norma Simpson

I had Norma as a doula and she made my experience better than I could have imagined. She was knowledgeable about different medical issues that arose, she also made sure the doctors stuck to my birthing plan and worked with me on alternatives when needed. She never left my side up until baby was born and that is exactly the support I needed and a big reason I chose a doula. She is reliable and listened to my needs for my personalized birthing experience. I would 100 percent recommend her as a birthing doula. She also set the tone with music/essential oils and brought things I didn’t even think of ! Hands down a beautiful experience for me as I welcomed my baby boy into this world. From start to finish she has been such a huge blessing! I will definitely be using her in any future births I may have !

I hired Norma as my birth doula and I’m so happy I did. I can confidently say that I would not have had such a beautiful labor and birth without her. Her energy is calming and peaceful which is so important to have (in my opinion) in your birthing space. She is full of knowledge, in which she presented to me so well in our prenatal sessions. She also prepared my husband with how to support me through labor and delivery. She was willing to answer any questions or concerns I had throughout my pregnancy. When I went into labor she was with me every step of the way. She helped me talk through hard decisions in addition to helping me manage my pain with every contraction. Norma also followed up/checked in postpartum. I couldn’t be more grateful for her. I’ve already decided that she will be by our side for the births of our future children.

I have had the privilege and honor to work with Beyond Earthside for the last 4.5 months. Our doula, Norma, has been such a joy to work with. We adopted our daughter four months ago and she has been so supportive. She provided us with overnight infant care for 2 months and then our daughter started sleeping through the night at 2.5 months. Norma supplied us with numerous resources, ensuring us we knew what to expect at each milestone. Norma is extremely professional and easy to work with. She was always prompt in replying to my texts and/or questions. She has a clear love for her job, as it shows when working with our daughter. Norma is very passionate about her career. Norma is a wonderful doula. She shares knowledge and educates in pre-labor meetings, this includes devising a thorough birth plan with your preferences that is ready to go when you walk into the hospital. Norma was my doula for my second birth so I already knew that having someone physically support me was important. I still don't know how I did not knock her over! She held me with such certainty - I knew she had me, and that was everything until I finally received my epidural. I also needed a good deal of emotional support since I had to give birth without my husband present. I feel her expertise in psychology is such a plus for this aspect. She would ask me to speak my feelings out loud, she was ready with honey sticks, hair ties, lip balm, and she vocalized so many things for me that I needed to hear about what was happening. It seemed she knew what I needed, right when I needed it, and she was so prepared! At the time I am writing this review, Norma is a young woman who has not yet had children - I almost let those facts scare me away - which would have been a mistake. She is a natural who clearly cares about her work and came highly recommended from my previous doula who had all the "stats". I will be contacting Norma again if I decide to have another child.

I had a great experience by having Norma as my doula. She is very kind, supportive, respectful and loving. She is very helpful and knowledgeable. Norma helped guide me through labor, offering different positions and items to help ease labor pains. Although our birth plan did not turn out as intended, she was very helpful and supportive during my transition to a c section. Norma did my placenta encapsulation flawlessly and provided me with beautiful artwork from my placenta. Norma was also a great asset to my postpartum care and transition to being a first time mom. Having Norma in my home to help care for my baby gave me the opportunity to recover and get more sleep. Norma provided me with light housework which enabled me and my husband to spend more time with our newborn.

Norma is such an incredible advocate and walked through the entire pregnancy and birth with me all while providing a wealth of knowledge and resources. The first time I met Norma it was like meeting a trusted friend! She was able to connect me with valuable information and resources on any questions and concerns I had and was a huge advocate and shoulder to lean on when I felt unjustly pressured to induce by my provider. She helped me to take control of my health and have confidence in the decisions I made for myself and my child. I had the birth of my dreams and was able to maintain good health through the entire pregnancy with resources she provided. Very attentive and organized and flexible and so so supportive, which is so important during this crazy season! So thankful for Norma and the blessing she was to our family! Best Doula Ever!
