I would like a home water birth, as natural as possible (no epidural), in a squatting position, delayed umbilical cord clamping, breathing exercises instead of pain medications, remaining active during labor, and medical/hospital intervention only if absolutely necessary.

Gentle C-Section Plan: Environment: Request dimmed lights, a quiet room, or to play your own playlist. Support: Designate your partner or support person to be present. Comfort: Request IV lines, blood pressure cuffs, and EKG leads be placed on your non-dominant arm to allow for easier holding of the baby. Visualization: Ask for a clear drape (or to have the mirror/screen lowered) to see the baby being born. During the Birth Communication: Ask the staff to explain what is happening, and consider requesting they tell you when they are ready to begin. Home is where I would like to be. I want to find someone my insurance covers and I don’t really have birthplan yet .

This is my first pregnancy and both my partner and I will be first time parents. I’m looking for help understanding my body as baby and I continue to grow. I live far from my mother and sisters so it’s a very emotional time without that support. I would love to learn new things for baby safety, feeding, sleep as well as what’s good for me as I’m nourishing myself and baby. I plan to give birth in the hospital with very minimal interventions, but I’m currently unsure what a back up plan would look like and I could use some support with creating that backup plan. Our first birth plan is to be very intimate and peaceful but my partner can also use some understanding and learning points for how to support, and where, at the time of birth. Once baby arrives, my partner won’t have the opportunity to be home with us long, and I’m planning to be home for 2 months postpartum. We would absolutely love the night support and the continuous learning. We have family support but we really want the first week to be only us and baby, as well as have strong boundaries with family about baby with hygiene and safety so this is where the help would come in. I feel like there is more to discuss to better understand match, but I am still very new!
