I plan to give birth in the hospital. This is my 6th baby and it has been a high risk pregnancy. As the birth grows closer and I have already been to the hospital a few times for false alarms and not had the best experience, I am growing more concerned about the birth. I delivered my daughter at the same hospital 6 years ago and everything went well. I wasn’t anticipating some of the challenges I have faced when visiting there recently. Looking into the option of having a doula there to advocate and support me. As I haven’t needed a doula through the whole pregnancy and my births are typically fairly short hoping I don’t have to pay for a whole typical doula package. Don’t have a set in stone birth plan. Hoping to do delayed cord clamping and have been advised that an epidural may be a good idea. I have breastfed all 5 of my other children and feel confident in undertaking it again. I have an extra lobe to my placenta that might need manual removal which I am told is more painful than giving birth naturally.

I plan to give birth at the Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. I currently see the midwives in the OBGYN Associates office there. I would prefer to use insurance (United Healthcare Community Plan- Medicaid). As far as birth plan, i definitely want to avoid an epidural if possible. Minor pain medicine is okay but nothing too crazy.

Need night nurse for extra sleep after nee baby is born. I have a 3 year old so sleep will be rather important for my husband and I.
