I plan to give birth at the Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. I currently see the midwives in the OBGYN Associates office there. I would prefer to use insurance (United Healthcare Community Plan- Medicaid). As far as birth plan, i definitely want to avoid an epidural if possible. Minor pain medicine is okay but nothing too crazy.

Hello. I just had my third baby January 5th. He was in the nicu for 2.5 weeks, so he was fed expressed breastmilk and nursed while i visited him. He’s been home for over a week now and we are struggling mastering the perfect latch. I’m in serious pain half the time. Based on my knowledge/experience with my other two kiddos, my baby has a tongue tie and I suspect that is part of the issue. He is scheduled to get that evaluated on February 9th. But in the meantime, I would really like to meet with an LC to help us and if we go through with a tie release, I feel I need some guidance there too. With my first child, I decided to exclusively pump right off the bat. With my second, I pumped and nursed. But with this baby, I would really prefer to nurse more than pump, but unfortunately right now I’m pumping more because of the pain. I have horizon nj health insurance and really need to find a LC who can take my insurance. Thank you!

Cole was born at 34 weeks. Was in the nicu for 18 days. Has a decent latch (mostly with shield) and was able to transfer milk in nicu with weighted feeds. Currently latching 2-3 times a day and supplementing with bottle after feeds. Concerned with striking balance of exclusively nursing and nursing/supplementing feed and when he is able to make the transition.

I am a first time mom that will be home with this baby myself. Most of the time as my husband will be working. I need advice on postpartum care with the baby and breast-feeding. I plan to have an epidural during labor I would like avoid unnecessary things such as patocine during labor sense iv learned that this is bad for the baby during labor if I don’t need it. I want to trust my own body to do the labor/ delivery process, I would like to be more educated and confident during my labor and have someone to advocate for me. I would like to use natural alternatives to help smoother labor experience.

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. When I had my son 5 years ago, my milk did not come in on time. It was about 1.5 weeks later and at that point, I did not breast feed.
