University of Utah Unsure of budget Epidural, vaginal birth, no induction

Hi! I’m just over a week postpartum and have been really struggling with breastfeeding. I thought it was going good and then at his appointment he had lost 12% of his weight. Since then I have been pumping and supplementing with formula. I don’t seem to be getting any more milk increase and it’s just not going to be doable anymore to pump every two hours without sleep. I’m looking for any help and advice to get it figured out before I just switch completely to formula. Thanks!

I need help getting my baby to take a bottle or milk in any kind of cup. He’s been exclusively breastfed, but I’m currently pregnant and my milk is drying up. I’ve been trying to get him take milk from a bottle for a month with no luck. I’m also trying a syringe and that’s not working either.

My 2–3 week old has had breastfeeding pain, fatigue at breast and bottle, long feeds early on, and limited intake. Intake improved with a faster bottle nipple, but I’m seeing lip blisters and milk leaking at the mouth. I’m concerned about possible oral-motor dysfunction or a mild tongue/lip restriction and would like a functional feeding assessment that supports breastfeeding in the future.

I plan to give birth in the Bountiful, Utah Labor and Delivery Hospital. I am a low income pregnant mama receiving Molina Healthcare insurance through Utah Medicaid. Any assistance with budget is greatly appreciated. I hope to have an unmedicated, natural vaginal birth with little to no medical intervention. I also hope to receive postpartum care and counseling as well as lactation and breastfeeding counseling. My goal is to give birth and follow up with prenatal and newborn care as naturally and holistically as possible with medical care at hand in the case of emergencies.

Intermountain health Layton Utah is where I will deliver my baby. I would like a natural birth.. 2,000 is top top of the budget. I am interested in hypnosis, coaching. English as language spoken, someone that will include my husband as he is very excited to participate. Experience in lactation, placenta encapsulation, and massage is a plush. Reiki is also something interesting to me. If they can help with postpartum meals, or cleaning that is a plus but not required. We live in Ogden utah. And no special circumstances besides it is my first baby!!!

Sometimes poor latching, clicking noise and sometimes pain when feeding

Baby is a month old, breastfeeding and supplementing with formula. Only getting 1 oz when I pump and when feeding baby she doesn't seem full and cries until given a bottle. Tried pumping after every feed and 2 to 3 hours, supplements, hydrating, etc. Baby is a month old no tongue tie, will latch and nurse. Also will take a bottle. Would like to only breastfeeding baby without supplementing.

Need help navigating a nursing strike with my 6 month old who has only consumed breast milk via nursing & pumped milk in bottles. Has never had trouble with any bottle or switching back & forth between bottle & breast until about 10 days ago and is now refusing breast. Also struggling with some breast pump issues/difficulties and low pump output and would like to address that if possible as well.

I need someone who is of the Christian faith like me. I am looking for a doula/midwife/nurse or someone who can do all the above. I need emotional support as well as some medical support, in case I have questions. I also need someone to keep me accountable to my eating habits and diet. I am low income and am on Medicaid. I can pay out of pocket if I have to but hopefully to someone who is not expensive.

My baby latched and was nursing great in the hospital and we supplemented with expressed breast milk to help keep her blood sugars up and have that colostrum to help her where I didn’t know how much she was getting from me. Now that we are home I cannot get her to latch to save my life. I have tried a nipple shield and she has latched for a moment with that, but I would love to get her to latch without a shield again. I’m not sure if we have let her get lazy by supplementing with the bottle, but I want to make sure she is getting fed no matter what. I would just enjoy the convenience and bond that comes from nursing!

I’m having trouble with my baby’s latch. He most of the times latches only on my nipple and it hurts a lot, and now he started unlatching pretty frequently which is very frustrating, so I’d like some help with it because I really want to breastfeed
