Need someone in the North LA area SFV, SCV I will be giving birth at a birthing center. My budged is below 3k I am a small business owner who is funding my own birth and maternity leave and have very limited insurance with a high deductible. I would also really want the doula to be latina or indigenous and practice native/indigenous post partum practices.

We plan to give birth at UCLA Westwood or UCLA Santa Monica. My insurance (UnitedHealth Care - HMO) said that everything would be covered, so, looking for a doula that accepts and works with UHC. This is my second child, and we will give birth in a hospital. We are all for modern medicine, and modern pain management, as needed. My goal is a low intervention VBAC. Open to either home or hospital—but I am leaning towards laboring at home for as long as I can before giving birth at a hospital. I am in search of a Midwife or Monitrice (LM or CPM perhaps?) who can help me labor safely at home (provide fetal monitoring, look for signs of rupture, preform cervical exams if necessary.) I plan to give birth at Scripps Encinitas. From my understanding, tricare select covers labor doulas, so I am not entirely sure. I am very against medical interventions in labor. (No pitocin, epidural, episiotomy, etc.) I am looking for someone who is going to medically advocate for me to allow myself to be present in labor and not feel like I am having to fight off people trying to intervene when unnecessary.
