I’ve hired doulas in the past and realize the importance of having that extra voice to advocate and support you in this vulnerable situation.

I plan to give birth at Mercy Hospital under the care of my OBGYN, Dr. Holmes. I am covered by OHP for full medical throughout my pregnancy. I want to deliver vaginally with the epidural and I am a first time mom. I am also a Black woman who is on edge with the statistics showing the difference in care for black mothers. With a doula, I'm hoping that my husband and I can have a partner in our first time parent journey to help us navigate the changes and advocate for my right to proper maternity care.

My husband and I have science/healthcare backgrounds, so we’re looking for education/instruction more so than emotional support. We are also Orthodox Christians, which we would like to integrate.
