Hospital may be necessary as I have positive test results for lupus anticoagulants (a misnomer, not necessarily lupus, but my blood clots quicker than normal). But if that is not advisable, in the hospital, to have emergency care at hand if necessary, but I want as low-intervention and low medication as my condition will allow. I want to mantain as much autonomy in my birth experience as I possibly can, and I don’t want doctors or nurses intervening, demeaning, or guilting me into anything unless I decide I want that care. My birth experience would be quiet with my husband there, with a shower, walking, eating small snacks to keep strength up, drinking herbal teas and using natural herbs and supplements to make the birth easier. I would like a midwife or doula( not sure which I need) to be an advocate and offer support and peace of mind through the process. If there are complications within her expertise of care, like turning a baby, etc. I would prefer most of my care to come from a midwife/doula.
