Hello, I am a FTM who plans to give birth at Sacred Heart in Spokane, WA. I had searched for a doula about a month ago but was told I needed a c section and we were short on funds so I stopped the search. I have now been cleared for a vaginal delivery and I would love a support person there to assist with my birth plan, while my husband is able to be present.

My name is Lyndsey Klein, and I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, graduating this May. I am enrolled in an Advanced Multicultural Counseling course, and for a course project I am focusing on Black maternal health and disparities in maternity care. I am reaching out to see if any doula or anyone who works within your organization might be willing to participate in a brief interview (approximately 30–45 minutes) to share insights from their professional experience supporting Black mothers. My goal is to better understand systemic barriers, protective factors, and ways mental health professionals can more effectively advocate for and support Black women during pregnancy and postpartum. I am looking for someone to help with nights. I have an almost 4 week old. I went through a very hard labor and delivery and would love the support during nights. I don't need any cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. just someone who can watch my little one at night. I would hope to find someone calm, gentle, with lots of experience, certified in CPR and newborn care, and someone who can follow a good routine. We like to keep lights low for baby girl and no tech (tv/phones) around her while sleeping. Baby is already sleeping 3-4 hour chunks from 11-2 and then 3ish-5 or 6. She cluster feeds a lot during the day to get her calories in so her sleep at night is great. She is a slow eater and is doing bottles at night with formula. I pump during the day.

University of Utah Unsure of budget Epidural, vaginal birth, no induction

My wife and I are expecting our first child in Late September. We have family here in the valley but we've been advised on the benefits of hiring a doula for both the birthing and postpartum phases. My wife has expressed to me the difficulties she's had with managing anxieties about things that can go wrong so any resources we can use to prepare for both pre and post partum depression would be something we're interested in too. We'd like to have those resources identified and ready to take advantage of before we need them. We are currently planning on scheduling the birth at IMC.

We are planning on a hospital birth at the University of Utah. If covered by insurance, we will rely on the Regence BCBS budget. We plan for an unmedicated birth but are open to nitrous for pain management and in worst case scenarios will listen to medical advice on induction/pain mgmt/c-section. I'm transgender and prefer LGBTQ+ friendly providers with experience with trans parents. We are covered by regence blue cross blue shield through the university of utah.

I'm planning on having a hospital birth. I'd love to find a doula that is covered by insurance. I'm still putting together a more detailed birth plan currently since we recently found out we're expecting our 2nd baby.

My wife and I aren’t 100% sure of needs yet but we plan to deliver in hospital with our obgyn and then will likely want some help at home in the postpartum phase. Not sure if this means 5-7 days a week or 2 or what yet…. Hoping to understand better potential services and associated costs. Might want some help with overnights but likely day time could suffice as well. Ideally spending a couple thousand a month or so for a few months.
