Desiree was with me through my entire pregnancy! She helped to advocate for me, helped me make educated and informed decisions when it came to my pregnancy, and was wonderful when it came time for me to have my son. She helped to keep me calm, communicate my needs to the nurses and make sure everyone was on the same page so that I could be focus on my birth. I absolutely recommend Desiree! As a Certified Doula, I love walking beside families through the transitions of pregnancy, labor and postpartum. I believe having access to positive support during those times contributes not only to better birth outcomes, but stronger bonds within the family and community as well. A mother of six myself, and while I have many interests and hobbies, like gardening and reading (SO much reading!) my knowledge around birth and motherhood has been a constant thread of connection with those I meet. I am honored when families value my input by bringing their questions to me! I am always seeking to learn more and have no hesitation in pointing clients to other resources if I am unsure of an answer. I strive to encourage an informed, prepared, and calm birth environment for my clients, meeting challenges that arise with patience and proven techniques.

Hi! I am a birth doula serving Tarrant and Parker counties. I specialize in hospital birth, and have experience with high risk moms, as well as moms who have experienced previous birth, medical, or other trauma. I love empowering and educating moms to be able to make their own confident decisions! I believe that birth support isn’t a luxury service. I am able to break my free up into multiple payments, and can accept HSA. I also work with an organization that might be able to provide a doula at no cost to you for those who qualify. Contact me today to schedule a free consultation to see if I would be a good fit for you!

I found Cynthia in a panic around 36 weeks pregnant, after my original doula didn’t work out. I had accepted the fact that I wouldn’t have a doula & it was probably too late to find someone. Cynthia heard my story and quickly took me under her wing. She helped me with prepping for labor, gave me tools to get the baby in an optimal position, & as a bonus, became a bff to my toddler! This was my first home birthing experience so I was so thankful she was willing to help me. When it came time that I went into labor, Cynthia was quick to be here & assist me. I labored extremely quick & there is no way I could have handled my wild labor without her. She kept me calm & reminded me I could do it & to breath through the contractions. She helped me clear my head space & stay grounded. I will forever be thankful for Cynthia & highly recommend her! If I decide to have more babies, I will definitely be using her again.

My goal as a doula is to keep you calm, peaceful, and fearless with lots of love and positive affirmations. Let me help you make your "dream birth" come true.

Recent review

I wasn’t sure I would need a doula or not. This was my second unmedicated birth and my first went well so we questioned the value. When I tell you it made my birth experience tremendously different, it made a world of difference. My birth this time was about half the time of my first and the contractions picked up quickly. It was amazing to have someone guide my labor the whole way, time contractions for me, play my playlist, help do hip squeezes and comfort measures before I even asked for them. There was a point when I had stalled and my midwife suggested breaking my water to help progress things. I was in laborland and couldn’t think at that point, and Jody guided me through the risk and reward factors to help me make an informed choice. Having her helped my husband be less anxious because he had her knowledge and support to lean on. She knew when to step in and when to step back. If birth had a best friend, it would be Jody. I highly recommend her to anyone in or out of hospital for any birth, but especially if your goal is an unmedicated birth, book her now and thank me later!

During the time, Ayanna was my doula, I was very thankful for her. She is very knowledgeable in her practice, and keeps a professional composure. She is trust worthy, and was a huge help during my last trimester (when I met Ayanna). I am grateful for her during pre-labor, during labor, and postpartum. I still buy her yoni herbs, which I enjoy. It really helps with soreness and inflammation, which is due to coitus. I love that she provides brochures full of information about each product she promotes. I trust her products, as they are holistic and natural. She does not compromise her ethics, nor her core values.

I am a new Doula and have completed a Dona approved Doula training. My work background is mostly rooted in hospitality, customer service and yoga. I have always had a passion for caring for others and creating a fulfilling experience. Birth is something I am in awe of and I'm so excited to support women and babies during these life changing moments! When I'm not at work, I can be found cooking a wholesome meal, reading a novel with a strong female lead or doing yoga. I'm a California native so I love spending time outdoors hiking/running, it's a great way to relieve stress and to feel accomplished after a long trek!

Highly recommend taking a pre-natal yoga class with Krista! She came to my home and guided me through a gentle flow. As a first time mom and someone who never exercised regularly, this was just what I needed. Will definitely be scheduling more sessions :)
