I practice trauma informed, perinatal, birth, and postpartum support for all birthing bodies, couples, single and single by choice parents, adoptive parents, and families on their surrogacy journeys. My support is queer competent, weight inclusive and intersectional, and it is always my priority to support people getting the care that helps them feel safe and seen, essential to the health and wellness of both baby and family. I know first hand how beautiful, challenging and exhausting childbirth and parenting is, and I come with a wealth of personal and professional experience to share with you.

Melanie was a fantastic resource before, during, and after my delivery. Having a high risk pregnancy, I wanted all the support I could get, and Melanie had the knowledge, experience, and confidence to provide that.

Hello! I am a mom of two, full spectrum doula and student midwife in Tacoma, WA. I’ve spent the majority of life supporting people in various and capacities, but found my calling in supporting families through the perinatal period. “It takes a village” is something I grew up on, but also stand and as a mom myself I know that finding that village can be difficult. My goal as your doula is to help bridge that gap and support you during what some consider a very vulnerable and changing journey. I aim to meet families where they are at and in ways that feel most comfortable for each client. I would love to connect and see if I would be a good fit for you!

I am a certified birth doula. I have been in business for 9 years and have supported over 500 families. I specialize in high risk births including V-backs and multiples. I also enjoy low risk and out of hospital births. I love clinic births as well as home births. Some very special births have been both in and out of the hospital setting. I believe that birth is full of beautiful moments and each birth has a beauty of its own. I enjoy being part of each birth Story. Birth photography is included in each birth packet and each client gets a full birth story that is documented all along the way.

Christina was our postpartum doula for several months and I highly recommend her. She made sure we slept and had moments of relaxation during our steep learning curve as new parents, ensured our son was well taken care of, and taught us so much about caring for a newborn. Christina was calm and supportive. She answered and anticipated so many of our questions with such a depth of knowledge and experience that we were able to skip many of the uncertainties and anxieties we were anticipating as first time parents. Christina is communicative, reliable, helpful, supportive, caring, and trustworthy, we’re so thankful for all she did for us!

Hello, my name is Sharlene, a postpartum doula and a naturopathic medical student with a deep passion for supporting new families. My journey into birth work began when I was a senior in high school who had the opportunity to do my rotations at a hospital in Texas. Little did I know at that time that it was passion that had been born from that experience— it planted the seed for my future. Moving to Washington to study at Bastyr was a leap towards making my dreams a reality. Becoming a doula was another beautiful discovery, introduced to me by a professor who not only taught me, but also helped me heal in ways I never expected. Now, as a postpartum doula, I am honored to walk alongside new parents, providing the care, support, and reassurance they need during such a transformative time. I can’t wait to continue growing in this field and, one day, serve my community as a midwife and a prenatal ND, providing holistic care throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

I’m a mom to two beautiful girls, a passionate birth doula, and someone who loves showing up for families during one of the most incredible — and life-changing — journeys there is. Years ago, I walked away from a decade-long career as a lawyer and followed my heart straight into birth work. Supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum feels like home to me — it’s where I come alive. Caring for others has always been second nature, but there’s just something about standing beside a family as they meet their baby that fills me up in a way nothing else does. My approach is simple — warm, personal, and rooted in trust. I believe every woman deserves to feel safe, supported, and truly seen as she steps into her power. Birth is raw, real, and different every time — sometimes full of joy and laughter, sometimes messy, emotional, and intense. I’m here for all of it — holding space, offering steady support, and reminding you that you are never in it alone. There’s no script, no one-size-fits-all here. I show up ready to meet you where you are — tuning in, listening, and walking beside you every step of the way. My goal is to make you feel held, informed, and confident, so you can look back on your birth story with pride. When I’m not supporting families, you’ll usually find me soaking up time with my girls — whether that’s cooking up something delicious, getting outside, or cheering way too loudly at the rink for my hockey-playing daughter (my proudest role might just be hockey mom!). Nature is my reset button, and the sauna-my happy place to unwind, reflect, and breathe. I’m also fluent in Russian and feel incredibly honored to support Russian-speaking families here in the Greater Seattle area — though truly, my heart is wide open to families from every background and walk of life. If you’re looking for a doula who’s warm, grounded, and 100% in your corner, I’d love to connect. You deserve support that feels like a soft place to land — and I’d be honored to be that for you.

Liza Hameza

15 years of experience

My name is Liza Hameza (Schaefer). I’m a mother of 4, doula, educator, and podcaster who’s spent 15 years studying birth in the fields. What began as a personal story has grown into a lifelong calling. Since then, I’ve supported over 490 births in different birthing settings, guided hundreds of parents through childbirth preparation and the first tender months with their newborns. Alongside modern doula practices, I weave in the wisdom of postpartum traditions I’ve learned in different countries - Belarus, Ukraine, Germany and Cyprus - rituals that honor a mother’s strength and nurture recovery. In addition to my one-on-one work with families, I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring doulas worldwide. I lead specialized trainings, and have been invited to speak at international conferences on birth and parenthood. I also created Oxytocin World, a podcast that brings together midwives, anthropologists, psychologists, researchers, and doulas to share knowledge about birth, parenting, and relationships. I believe birth is more than a medical event - it’s a profound initiation for families, one that deserves care, respect, and continuity. My role is to walk beside you in that journey: grounding, encouraging, and offering both practical tools and emotional support. Outside of doula work, I feel most alive when cooking, practicing yoga, running, hiking in the mountains, or just being with my family. These everyday joys keep me grounded and remind me what truly matters.

My name is Aijanae, the visionary founder of Village to Village Doulas, a premier doula agency renowned for its holistic and compassionate approach to childbirth and postpartum care. My journey into the world of maternal support was deeply personal and transformative. My son, my baby boy Jahsiah was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma just as I had booked my calendar for the year, I was faced the immense challenge of balancing my professional and personal life. This experience underscored the importance of having a trusted support system during life's most vulnerable moments. Leveraging my personal journey, I established Village to Village Doulas to provide unparalleled support to local Doulas and parents navigating the complexities of childbirth and early parenthood.

Recent review

I have had such a positive, stress-free postpartum experience, and that is in very large part thanks to Aijanae. I feel so lucky to have found her and her team - from the moment I first talked to her, I knew I would want her to support me and my family. She exudes calm, and she is incredibly knowledgeable, and she is very generous with her time. Aijanae supported me for the first 6 weeks with overnights, and then her team (Jazzy, Wren, and Hailey) joined to support for the following 4 weeks. I thoroughly enjoyed Aijanae's company during the middle of the night feedings and so appreciated all her advice on breastfeeding and newborn care (and appreciated her folding laundry, doing some meal prep, and cleaning pump parts). Aijanae really cares about you as a new mother and goes out of her way with texts, phone calls, and in-person conversations to make sure you feel heard and supported. My experience with Jazzy, Wren, and Hailey was also great. They are all clearly experts in what they do. And the great thing about working with an agency, like Aijanae's agency, is that if you have a longer term contract like I did and someone inevitably gets sick or can't make a shift, there is always someone else who can cover. Our 10 weeks with Aijanae and her team were a big financial commitment, but it was worth every penny. I would wholeheartedly recommend Aijanae and Village to Village to any family who wants a smoother postpartum experience.

In a world of social media, “parenting experts” are everywhere - the information overload can be so overwhelming and paralyzing, especially as first time parents… enter Zoe. The hardest thing to embrace as a first time mum was knowing how much you don’t know, so having support, both hands on and virtually, from a postpartum doula made all the difference. Zoe’s knowledge in childcare and child development, as well as postpartum care (with a genuine emphasis on CARE) has made all the difference in our first three months as parents. Any new parents know it’s easy to feel like you’re blundering through, and just trying to survive. Zoe’s demeanor is that of, “you are the parents, you are experts in YOUR child,” as she guides us with her own expertise. She has not only helped to educate, but has given us the tools and encouragement to implement new practices for ourselves. From answers about baby sleep - both naps and nighttime, routines and schedules, lactation support, to the ever important parental care (self care IS caring for your baby, thanks for the reminder, Zoe), developmental milestones, and even playtime (how do you play with a baby? Zoe knows). She has been a delight to work with, her communication is excellent, and in a time that can be frightening and isolating, Zoe has ensured that post partum is not something we ever felt “alone” in. After working with Zoe, it is impossible to think of how different our experience would have been without her, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with her, and will hopefully get to work with her again for future children
