Plan to give birth at Alta view hospital with minimal interventions and monitoring as needed. Tub laboring and nitrous oxide for pain management. Its my 2nd baby. I had a 2nd degree episiotomy done with my 1st and want to prevent tearing or a second episiotomy. My wife and I are expecting our first child in Late September. We have family here in the valley but we've been advised on the benefits of hiring a doula for both the birthing and postpartum phases. My wife has expressed to me the difficulties she's had with managing anxieties about things that can go wrong so any resources we can use to prepare for both pre and post partum depression would be something we're interested in too.
