Someone to advocate for me in the hectic moments of delivery and contractions to help me feel focused and give me knowledgeable insights with methods and positions on how to manage pain during contractions. I have a lot of anxiety going into my second pregnancy after a HORRIBLE experience with my epidural during my stay at Kaiser. The first one didn’t work, and the second one resulted in a spinal headache, and a nurse accidentally gave me too much/extra dosage of the epidural and my legs were pointless and hanging so my mom/husband had to carry them which was even harder to push my 9.7 pound son out. I just want to feel supported and safe.
Hello, My name is Anna Kerlo. I am reaching out to you to ask if you might have availability to support my husband and I through the birth of our baby. I am due August 12, it’s a girl, and she will be our first child after 7 years of IVF treatments. We have Kaiser, and are planning to give birth at Kaiser Santa Clara. I am hoping for a birth as unmedicated as possible, but also understand things don’t always go as planned. Would be available? Thanks a lot in advance for your help, Anna Kerlo
I live in Hollister, but I will be giving birth at Kaiser in San Jose, CA, and I’m looking for a supportive, trauma-informed doula for both birth and postpartum care. I would love someone familiar Latina postpartum traditions (preferred), such as rebozo support, gentle bone closing/cerrada de cadera, emotional support, and holistic healing practices, and lacataion support. I’m hoping for someone warm, calming, and nonjudgmental who can support both me and my partner through labor, recovery, breastfeeding, and postpartum mental health. I’m especially interested in postpartum support that helps me feel grounded, safe, and cared for after birth. I have Kaiser and would prefer someone in-network.
only need birth support doula on the day of birth, budget only $500
I have Kaiser HMO plan. Plan to give birth in hospital. I have hip arthritis with limited hip mobility in one leg. Other leg is perfectly fine. I want to explore if vaginal birth is possible for me. I want to know about alternate birthing positions.
I have Kaiser insurance and am planning on giving birth at Kaiser Santa Clara. My birth plan is to be open to assistance or suggestions from professional support. I would like to try different types of pain management and am open to all if necessary. Ideally I do not want to have an IV so movement is possible. I would like to have delayed chord clamping if possible. Skin to skin and golden hour are important to me. My husband will be in the room and is very kind and attentive. I would like to have contact after birth as it is my first child and I’m sure there will be questions, but we don’t need help like cooking, cleaning, or laundry.
1. I haven’t gotten a referral yet but I think I’ll go with El Camino in Mountain View 2. I’m looking for a doula that accepts tricare. I’m also open to paying out of pocket but tricare would be my first pick. 3. This is my second child and the labor with my first was under 4 hours. Birth plan this time would be to labor without an epidural. All other parts of my birth plan I’m open to suggestions. I’d like to labor at home if possible.
I plan to give birth at the hospital with medication. I prefer to have a vaginal birth if possible and this is my first baby.

Do not cut the umbilical cord until 5-45 mins later or until it’s white in color. Do not SCRAPE my placenta out, let me deliver naturally unless for emergencies or let me breast feed to help deliver it. Hospital (planning to deliver at a hospital in the Bay Area / Mountain View, CA area). I have Cigna commercial insurance and understand doula care may be covered under California AB 904. I'd like to first use my insurance benefit if possible. For any out-of-pocket portion, my budget is approximately $4,000 for postpartum support. First-time mother, IVF pregnancy, currently under OB-GYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) care due to advanced maternal age (38). Planning a hospital birth. Open to natural birth but following medical guidance. Due date: January 20, 2027. I would especially value postpartum support, as I don't have family nearby.
