I am a wife, mother, educator, and doula. I love the challenge and beauty of birth. I have decided to follow my passion and calling in life as a birth doula. It is so important that families feel supported, respected, and cared for as they welcome their child(ren) to the world. In addition, those first few weeks after the birth are very tender, emotional, and draining. I want to help lead my clients to positive transitions into parenthood. This happens when we work as a team and collaborate on what makes a healthy birth and postpartum experience for YOU.

As someone with lived-experience as a biracial individual (second-generation immigrant, Mexican-American) raised in a multicultural & blended family, I'm especially passionate about providing support to those that identify as members of historically resilient communities. I understand that receiving care from someone we feel connected to can be invaluable. I offer a free consultation to provide a space to talk through your unique hopes, fears, and needs so that you feel good about moving forward with me being a part of your support crew. A native of Seaside, Kaleena returned home to the Peninsula in 2018 after a long and prestigious career of professional dance in the Bay Area. Upon hanging up her pointe shoes, Kaleena was invited to join the esteemed San Francisco GYROTONIC® where she studied under some of the world's foremost teachers and shared that knowledge with clients of all ages and physical capabilities. It was after the ecstatic home births of both of her children that Kaleena furthered her curiosity into Birth and the depths of Pre and Post Natal movement studies. As a Certified Birth Doula and Childbirth Educator, Kaleena is passionate about sharing all she knows about movement and birth with her clients. With the Pre and Post Natal Applications of The Gyrotonic® Method movers can enhance their understanding of their pelvic floor anatomy and function, create space in their ever-changing bodies, understand birth biomechanics to encourage optimal fetal positioning, develop strength where needed, and learn how to create an elasticity that helps them move through their pregnancy and postpartum with strength and grace. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and I am the middle child to two brothers. I grew up in a tight-knit family filled with mostly women so pregnancy was around me my whole life. I was always there when family members came home helping care for them and the baby in whatever I could. I started out as a pre-school teacher and a special education teacher’s assistant, both roles I enjoyed. I did my first official doula training in 2018 and immediately knew I had found my place. Learning about the birth disparities black women face and personal experience from my own birth made my drive to help women of color come alive. I have a special interest in breastfeeding as well and I hope I can help more women and people have successful breastfeeding journeys. As an aspiring midwife and I know that being a doula will help me in my journey there. I became a birthworker because I want to help other birthing women and peoples experience power in their birth and postpartum time. When I had my daughter I had some of my power taken away from me and I want to help other birthing women and people know their rights so that can never happen. I chose this path because I want to make sure they feel loved, protected, well informed, and heard. I see it as my responsibility to my community to be of service and purposeful in the care I provide.
