Hi! I'm Kaitlyn. I am a DONA Certified Birth Doula and a Rhode Island Certified Perinatal Doula experienced in working with those choosing to have a home birth or water birth, those walking through birth anxiety, and those needing strong human rights advocacy in the hospital setting. I utilize evidence-based childbirth education to teach, Spinning Babies techniques to physically support, trauma-informed care to emotionally support, and Birth Monopoly training to encourage advocacy with my clients. I take an overall holistic and natural-minded approach to care. I work with my clients throughout their pregnancy, continuously through labor and birth, and for a few weeks postpartum in the hospital, at home, and in birth centers. I also offer supportive care during the postpartum period with physical and emotional support for mother's, newborn care, cooking, light cleaning, and more. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, and prior to becoming a Birth Doula, I spent a decade professionally teaching. My career has been spent educating and caring for children and their families, which has proven to be extremely beneficial to my birth work. It’s my desire to continue supporting and loving families as they engage in the most important moments of their lives. I birthed both of my children at home and I have a deep love and respect for home births. Through my own pregnancy and birth experiences, I found that having proper support from people you truly trust and feel safe with is absolutely essential for a satisfying birth experience. I'm eager to support you, educate you, reassure you, and help you advocate for everything you want your birth to be. It's my goal to ensure you always feel safe, heard, loved, respected, and empowered throughout your journey.

Kaitlyn has been a long time friend. We were both excited when we found out that we were both pregnant and only a day apart with our boys! This was my first pregnancy and her second. Unfortunately, we live in different states and didn’t see each other much in person. When I was 17 I lost my mom and Kaitlyn was always by my side. The same holds true, even in different states, during my pregnancy. Kaitlyn was always a text, Snapchat, or voice message away from answering any questions I would have. No question or concern was too much to ask! At 20 weeks I learned my son had a cyst in his brain that could indicate a chromosomal abnormality (at 27 weeks we found out that he would be ok after many appointments at a specialist). Kaitlyn was my first call, she kept me calm and although there were no answers she could give me that would take the worry away, it was a blessing to have someone virtually there to support me. I went into labor first and had a hospital birth, everything was beautiful for the first couple of hours and then reality hit. If only postpartum held the same excitement feeling I felt for 9 months. Kaitlyn was in labor at that time and I still felt the love and support that I had throughout my pregnancy. It wasn’t until a month or so after giving birth when she mentioned about becoming a doula and I couldn’t agree more that she would be perfect for that profession! She was doing the work of a doula, virtually, but it didn’t feel like we were 100 of miles apart. If we both were up during the night (throughout pregnancy and postpartum) we would text or Snapchat each other videos of whatever issue we were having. She had advice that I would’ve never thought of. Being that my mom passed away and this was my first pregnancy, I didn’t have that women to go to for advice, to cry to, or just to share our struggles with. Kaitlyn was that person for me, granted she is not my mom but she is someone who would give me honest advice, someone who would wipe my tears through the phone with laughter. She did all this before making it her profession. Her compassion and care make her the best choice for anyone to choose her to be their doula.

Hi everyone! My experience with birth started with my first birth: my son was born peacefully at home in the water. I fell in love with birth right away, and began taking doula classes. My approach to prenatal, labor, and postpartum care is mother and family centered. I’ve also trained in labor massage, Ayurvedic postpartum nutrition, childbirth education, and as a lactation educator and placenta specialist. My goal is to offer support, assurance, and information to my families at every step of their early parenthood journey. My philosophy and education align best with mamas who are pursuing natural birth and holistic support. I have experience with VBACs, HBACs, and free births.

Working with children and their families has been my life’s work, whether being a center-based teacher or in-home care. My biggest and greatest accomplishment has been becoming a mother to my two boys. Being a postpartum doula and lactation educator is another way to share in these magical times and help families adjust to life with a newborn. Having experienced vastly different prenatal, birth, and postpartum experiences with both of my sons, this lit the passion in me to help others during this time when things can be unexpected. Training through CAPPA (Childbirth & Postpartum Professional Association) solidified all the reasons why I want to continue to help support families and be a part of their amazing journey as their family grows. My hands-on experience, becoming a mother and working as a teacher, has shown me just how different each baby and family are. I look forward to sharing your unique beginning with you, creating success in your parenting journey.

I have been an IBCLC since 2007 offering both virtual and in-home visits to families for prenatal and postnatal infant feeding and lactation support. I help parents with a wide variety of topics in lactation and infant feeding. Some include preparing for lactation and infant feeding, returning to work, pumping and flange fitting, low milk supply, oversupply, oral function, oral restrictions, difficulty latching or feeding, positioning, introducing bottles, starting solids, nighttime nursing, weaning, and more. I have taken several advanced skills training in the areas of oral function, latching & positioning, and gut health. No question is too small or too big. I aim to support each dyad and each family in the way that makes them feel most supported and reach their infant feeding and lactation goals.

Robin loves all aspects of being a doula and supporting clients through pregnancy and preparing for labor. She has found a niche in prenatal and birth support with the addition of birth photography. It is an incredible honor to share her clients' birth story through photographs and document their first chapter of their child's life on earth. She also enjoy supporting her clients when they are home with their baby for the first night postpartum. Several of her birth clients have hired her to stay overnight during those first days at home to help them get the sleep they need by caring for baby and helping set up the essential supplies to care for their newborn. Since she was a young child, she has always felt the desire to care for others. Robin created Within Motherhood after answering the call to support women on their journey into motherhood.

I enjoy supporting children, adults, and families as they navigate major life transitions, like pregnancy, blended families, and moving. I also work closely with chronic illness and chronic pain patients. My current research focuses on the ways in which healthcare providers can be better trained to support patients, avoiding medical trauma and gaslighting. I specialize in the use of drama therapy, a creative and embodied approach. Drama therapy uses play, metaphor, role, and story to help people of all ages, identities, and abilities to create meaningful change. Using a dramatic approach to therapy makes the process less scary and more approachable. By stepping into another role or placing our personal stories in metaphor, we feel safer to discuss difficult topics and explore new ways of feeling and thinking.

Hi! My name is Heather and I’m a birth & postpartum doula out of Bellingham, MA. I have 2 young kids and was inspired in my own pregnancies and deliveries to become a family support worker during the incredible transition of welcoming home a new baby. My number one goal is advocating and educating the families I work with from day 1 so everyone can have the childbirth experience they deserve. I have been working as a doula for over a year and have served 7+ families as a doula and newborn care specialist during that time.

Recent review

I cannot say enough about Heather’s compassion and knowledge when it comes to pregnancy and postpartum care for both baby and mama. Throughout my pregnancy, Heather would check in on me to see how I was doing, and she checked in on me right away following my daughter’s birth. She provided a listening ear when I needed to share the scary bits of my birth story, and used her personal experiences to share advice and guidance. She is so dedicated to maternal health and is an amazing advocate and support person!
