I’m a first-time mom due in December with a baby girl and plan to give birth at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. I’m looking for a calm, supportive, nonjudgmental birth doula who is experienced with hospital births and strong with advocacy. I’m currently not in the best place with my partner, so having someone who makes me feel safe, supported, and heard is really important to me. If at any point I decide I no longer want someone in the room, I need my doula to advocate for me and involve hospital staff so I don’t have to handle it myself while I’m in labor. I’d also like help with breathing, positioning, pain management, and communicating my birth preferences.
