Hi, I'm Sydney, a perinatal Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Cousultant, and mom of two toddlers. I am dedicated to educating and equipping parents to make informed and supported choices for feeding their babies.
I offer lactation support in San Diego county and virtual support nationwide.
Your 75 minute appointment will take place all in the comfort of your home. During your visit, we'll start with thorough prenatal & labor/delivery history-taking and discuss your current goals. We'll assist you with latch or pumping strategies, depending on the nature of your visit. We also come equipped with a medical grade scale in order to perform a pre/post feed weight. You will receive a personalized care plan, unique to you & your baby!
An additional $30 flat travel fee will be applied in addition to the service for all in home visits.

We highly recommend follow up visits in order to continue to build your confidence. Schedule your 60 minute follow up appointment to address continued feeding difficulties or when new issues arise.

Sydney is amazing! My husband and I attended her breastfeeding essentials class when we were still pregnant, and it helped so much to know what to expect once baby was here. Once our son did arrive, it wasn't what we were expecting (he had to be in the NICU for a few days) and working with Sydney once we were all home helped so much in our breastfeeding journey! I was nervous about how hard it would be to have him transition to fully nursing after being on mostly bottles and formula in the NICU, but Sydney came to our house to give tips and observe how he was nursing and do a weighted feed, gave us a simple plan that was easy to follow, and was so helpful in the transition from triple feeding to just breastfeeding! We are so grateful for Sydney!

As a first time mama, I left the hospital feeling proficient in breastfeeding. However, I wanted to have hands on help at home to make sure I was setting my breastfeed journey up for success. Sydney was that and MORE! She made me feel comfortable in my home during the vulnerable, early postpartum days and provided valuable tips and insight. During a follow up visit, she taught me how to pump and we practiced bottle feeding my baby. Sydney is a literal angel. She made me feel so seen and accepted when I was at my absolute worst postpartum. My baby was very particular with breastfeeding and Sydney knew exactly what to do and how to help. She was patient and so encouraging and kind. I saw her at multiple points during my breastfeeding journey- including when my baby went on a nursing strike. I have nothing but good things to say about Sydney. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend Sydney enough! I had no idea how I was going to feed my twins. Sydney was an absolute game changer when having my first baby. Why would a lactation visit help me?
Breastfeeding, while natural, can bring unexpected challenges. Here are a few reasons families may seek support:

What can I expect during an in home lactation visit?
During an in home lactation visit, we focus on what is most important to you! We'll start with a brief medical history of you and your baby. Then, we will take a weight of your baby using a medical grade scale before and after a feeding to estimate milk transfer, to see how much milk your baby takes in. As you feed your baby, we will assist with positioning, latch, and offer tailored and targeted feedback as needed. Then, we'll create a personalized plan to help you reach your breastfeeding goals, including additional resources and follow up care. Typically, your first visit lasts 75 minutes.
And we highly recommend that your spouse, partner, or other support person is there with you if possible. Feeding babies is a team sport!
How can I pay for a lactation visit?
At this time, Cradle & Latch only accepts Tricare Prime and Select insurance.
Out of network clients will receive a superbill after paying out of pocket to submit to their insurance after the visit.
We also accept HSA/FSA cards, as long as they are issued by one of the major card brands (Visa, Discover, Mastercard, or Amex). However, it's also MCC (merchant chain code) dependent. If the MCC doesn't align with a business that should be accepting HSA/FSAs, it may not work.
I'm pregnant, and planning to breastfeed. What can I do now?
First of all, congratulations! We are passionate about prenatal care at Cradle & Latch, so there are a few different ways that you can get the support you desire to reach your goals.
We offer private prenatal lactation visits, with both in home and secure telehealth options.

How much does Sydney charge?
Sydney's Virtual Follow Up Visit package is $100 USD, flat rate. Sydney lists 6 packages in all.
Does Sydney accept insurance?
Sydney lists UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Tricare, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), First Health (Coventry Health Care), Imagine Health, and Meritain Health as accepted insurance. Message Sydney to confirm coverage for your plan.
