About me

Hi! I’m Sylvia Gainey, a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC), Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS), and Certified Lactation Specialist (CLS). I’m also a mom of four, and my own challenging breastfeeding experience with my first baby is what inspired me to pursue a career supporting other mothers on their feeding journeys. Through my business, Peace of Mind Lactation, I provide compassionate, judgment-free breastfeeding and pumping support tailored to each family’s individual needs. I have experience supporting families with latch difficulties, milk supply concerns, pumping, returning to work, bottle feeding, engorgement, relactation, and more. My approach is centered around education, realistic solutions, and helping parents feel confident rather than overwhelmed. I believe every breastfeeding journey looks different, and families deserve to feel heard, supported, and empowered to make informed decisions. My goal is to bring a little more peace of mind to what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming season of parenthood.

Service introduction

Through Peace of Mind Lactation, I offer compassionate, personalized support for growing families, including in-person and virtual lactation consultations, newborn care, and night nanny services. I can assist with breastfeeding and pumping concerns, latch and milk supply, bottle feeding, and individualized feeding plans, as well as overnight newborn care and establishing healthy routines. My goal is to help parents feel supported, rested, informed, and confident during the newborn stage.
