We’re looking for birth and possibly postpartum support for a hospital birth for our first child. Ideally, we are looking to utilize our insurance to assist with cost coverage. My birth plan is not yet fixed, but hoping to lean more on the natural side of things. We are especially interested in doulas who have a Christian faith background.

First time mom, giving birth at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. No budget, as our insurance covers doula and lactation care. I want to avoid the cascade of intervention as best we can (including induction). I am not opposed to medication however, I do want to give birth as naturally as possible. I know my pain tolerance is low, so I anticipate there's a possibility of wanting an epidural. I want: -delayed cord clamping -skin to skin, golden hour after birth -vaginal delivery -circumcision (having a boy) Don't want: -baby out of mom and dad's sight after birth unless medically necessary -induction interventions unless medically necessary -bottle formula for baby -forceps/vacuum

Hi LaurieAnn, I am the adoptive mother of a baby due mid to late March. I’ve been searching for postpartum support without much luck. We live in Norwich (13815). I’m an older mom, 41, living with my husband and a few dogs. I had miscarriages but no deliveries due to premature ovarian failure. I am attempting to induce lactation and Upstate Breastfeeding medicine will see me, but not until February. I guess I just thought I should reach out to a real person instead of relying solely on the internet! If you have any resources to point me towards, I would appreciate it.

I would like to do a vaginal birth, preferably natural but if the pain gets to be too much I’ll probably cave and get an epidural. I will be giving birth in a hospital. I want as natural as possible and the freedom to move about during labor. I want someone who will be able to advocate for me and my needs/wants when I am unable or being pressured by doctors. Hello! My husband and I are seeing a private OB currently. We are planning for a hospital birth. We are looking for someone who can provide support to myself(patient) but also my husband. We have a strong faith and believe birthing is a miracle but would love to have a well experienced support system in the room with us from beginning to end. To help calm those nerves, talk us through situations and be a guidance. Also to help voice our wants/needs while in the hospital. Going into it I am hoping for a vaginal delivery, possibly unmedicated. However will assess the situation when it comes. I would love some natural holistic approaches as well.

I want some one to be there for my delivery and get my placenta. I want my placenta made into capsules. I want my umbilical cord to be clamped after 5-10 minutes ( basically when cord is white ). I don’t want my daughter vaccinated or any other shots at birth. I’m delivering my daughter at highland hospital. I want to try natural, but will get an epidural if needed. This is my first child.
