I hired Tiffany as my dula, as well as for 20 additional postpartum hours for my baby who was due mid April but ended up coming at the end of March. She was very helpful in preparing mentally for my birth. She had to miss my birth because she was sick, which I understood and did want her being ill around my newborn. She did provide virtual support with decision making. For missing my birth she offered 10 additional postpartum hours. Before I booked the additional postpartum hours with her we talked about her schedule and she said she would be around until the end of May and then would be leaving which was fine with me. While we had some difficulty scheduling my postpartum hours she was very helpful when she was here so it didn’t bother me. I had her come for an overnight mid April and we had a good experience. After that she mentioned that she would be leaving in the beginning of May which was a surprise to me. I scheduled another overnight for the following we to use up my 12 hours even though I would have preferred to spread them out. She had to cancel last minute that afternoon, later I came to find out that she left the next day, which was the end of March. Once I finally got in contact with her she sounded understanding and said we would make up a plan for my hours and she said she would get back to me when she made it to Florida. I did not hear back from her for the next few weeks. Now I have been reaching out to her for over a week with no response. I have offered for her to reimburse me for the hours she did not complete as I understand life happens and so do moves, but she has ghosted me. While I think she is knowledgeable I did not get what I paid for. She missed my birth, was unable to come my second week postpartum when my husband was back at work (a week I specifically mentioned wanting help when booking those hours), committed to postpartum hours she did not complete (which I paid for in full), and has stopped responding to any messages where I’m trying to find a resolution. I would still like to resolve this situation but currently am left frustrated and disappointed.

Couldn’t have gotten luckier with this one!!! Soooo last minute I decided to get a doula when I realize how grossly unprepared I was for birth.
