Hello! It’s my honor and passion to be actively supporting new and expectant parents for the past 20+years in Tucson, Arizona. I am a fully certified Labor and Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator and Lactation Educator, and enjoy using my expertise to help my clients navigate the many options available in pregnancy, labor and the postpartum journey. I am also an Arizona state licensed and AHCCCS credentialed doula. As an in-network provider, my professional services are FREE if you are actively enrolled with a Medicaid plan. I’m proud to have positive, and long-standing professional relationships with all the OBGYNs and midwives in our area. I support births at all our Tucson hospitals, as well as the Midwifery Center and planned home-births. I have decades of experience with supporting all kinds of clients and births: Unmediated/medicated births, Cesarean births, VBACS, singletons/twins/triplets, IVF, teens, LGBTQ, high-risk pregnancies, water births. I offer non-judgmental support and culturally respectful care. My goal is to offer research-based education and physical/emotional support, to help empower you. We will work together to form your birth preferences, and I will help you understand options available to you, at your birthing location. I will help you with ways to communicate effectively with your medical provider, understanding ways to participate in your health care decision making,, your patient rights, how to know when you’re in labor/when to go to the hospital, etc….all while making sure that we keep joy/excitement infused into everything…..vs. letting all the medical stuff overshadow this amazing season in your life. Hi I'm Krystal a Birth and Bereavement Doula serving all of Southern Arizona. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I am DONA certified, Arizona State Licensed and an approved AHCCCS Provider. I have CPR and NRP certificates and my fingerprint clearance card. I am most proud of being a mother to 9 children and 5 angel babies. I've had all types of births myself so I strive to help mothers be prepared for the birth they want using knowledge I've gained along the 24 yrs of my own motherhood and labor experiences. As fate would have it, the family for whom Mackenzie had worked as a nanny found themselves expecting their second child. Remembering Mackenzie's exceptional care for their firstborn, the family not only welcomed the idea of her returning but also suggested the concept of doula support for the impending birth. Recognizing Mackenzie's unique talent for providing emotional support and guidance, they saw in her the makings of an extraordinary doula. Empowered by the trust and encouragement of this family, Mackenzie embraced the doula path with open arms. She delved into extensive training, eager to expand her knowledge and expertise. The transition from nanny to full spectrum doula felt natural for Mackenzie, who had already cultivated a deep understanding of the intricacies of family dynamics and the nuances of caring for newborns. Her background in group homes, experience as a camp counselor, and years spent as a preschool teacher provided Mackenzie with a holistic perspective that she now brings to her doula practice. Angela is an industry expert whose knowledge of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period is called upon repeatedly for birth work curriculum writing. She has penned childbirth education courses, infant feeding programs and various resources for colleagues and organizations in the birth industry. Tucson Arizona is her home, and it’s where more than 400 families have personally benefitted from her expertise in the birth room, in childbirth classes and her role as a breastfeeding counselor.
