I will be giving birth at Boone hospital with Dr. Borgmeyer, and my due date is May 20th. This is my first baby, and I'd like help advocating for my birth in the hospital. Birth plan is too much to elaborate on now, but I can provide that at a later time. We aren't sure on the budget, I'm not even sure how long they run!

My birth plan includes having my husband with me, probably going in before my water breaks because I have a large car on my stomach that makes the contraction monitor read inaccurately. Hi, I’m going to be a first time mom! As I am super excited and starting to plan my near future, I am also trying to navigate how I want my birthing experience to go. I know that I would like to have a hospital birth, which I believe I have found the perfect hospital for me. As of right now I am still researching this and that. Meaning, there are so many different birthing experiences. I’m sure everyone has their dream ideal labor and delivery story to which some come true and some do not. I am fully aware anything can happen but before we go there, I do have an “ideal” way I’d like to see my labor going. I would very much prefer an unmedicated birth. My main goal is no epidural. I do have a few different reasons as to why I don’t want it, but that is something we can always get into later if you’d like! I should also mention again, this is my goal! If at any point I get to a point during labor where I absolutely want it or feel that I need it, if able to, I will change my mind. I also would love to stay away from Pitocin as long as possible as long as there are no complications etc. of course if the labor is getting dangerous for me or baby, I understand. I am also hoping as my doula (when we find each other!) you will help me understand more about these. As long as things go as planned, I plan on my mother and boyfriend being present during my labor and birth. I also hope I can add another amazing support person to the list! My preferred birth method is a Trial of Labor after 2 Cesarean Sections. I had a very difficult time with my last elective c-section. I had a spinal fluid leak, required several medications and a blood patch, and mentally struggled with coping. I thought I was okay with another c-section, however, I ended up deeply regretting following through. I did have signs of labor approaching (contractions, losing mucus plug), but had a c-section at exactly 40 weeks. I would be okay with another c section if medically necessary. If the facility allows, I’d like to then do a maternal-assisted cesarean section.

At home, no set budget. I want as little medical intervention as possible, just looking for a peaceful event
