Hi, We are a queer couple expecting our second baby girl (due date Sep 3).  Are you available for birth /post partum care? It would be particularly helpful if you have experience helping parents care for newborn and managing feelings of older sibling.   We have Kaiser. Are you able to direct bill them? Thank you, Best regards, Mengfei & Ran
Emily is looking for Birth Doula
Location: Point Richmond, CA 94801, USA
Due date or baby's birthday: September 04, 2025
I am a kaiser patient and a bit worried about giving birth with them. Kaiser is great in a lot of ways, but it seems like you need to be a big advocate for yourself, and having assistance with that might be helpful. I think I would be giving birth in Oakland, CA. I would like more information abut epidurals and the birth process, best ways to push to prevent tearing, etc. I am very newly pregnant, but I am interested in chatting with someone about the best way to give birth and how to advocate for myself. Also someone who can provide emotional and physical support throughout the process, personalized care, and improved birth outcomes. Not sure what an average budget for this is, but I figure through the whole process maybe $1,000 or so? I am not sure about my birth plan at this point, but would like to discuss some possibilities!

We plan to deliver at the hospital in Oakland. We are pretty close to the due date, and are hoping to receive birth and postpartum support, with no more than 11 visits. Our birth plan is for vaginal birth, with the use of an epidural. We will defer to our medical team for advice if circumstances make that plan risky or untenable. We do not have a fixed budget as the birthing parent’s insurance covers doula services. The policy (Kaiser) does not explicitly specify price limits but states that it should be within “reasonable market rates”. The policy is also limited to certain primary services and we would like to keep within that range. For example, services NOT covered include massage, help with daily living like shopping and laundry, alternative health practices. Full list of services not covered can be found at https://healthy.kaiserpermanente.org/northern-california/health-wellness/maternity/doula-care?kp_shortcut_referrer=kp.org/doulacare#common-questions

Pregnancy has not been easy at all & im looking for someone to help with that as it comes to an end . I have gestational diabetes and have to start taking insulin . It’s a possibility I might get induced at 38-39 weeks which puts me at the end of June but baby original estimate was July 8th . I’m looking for someone who works with my insurance for Kaiser as I have medical and they help cover the cost . Hope to hear from you soon thank you for your time .
