We are planning to give birth at a hospital, ideally one with a strong reputation for maternal care, low intervention rates, and access to a NICU if needed. Our estimated budget for doula and postpartum support is between $1,500 and $3,500 depending on experience, services included, and level of support provided before and after delivery. Our birth plan is centered around a calm, low-intervention experience. We prefer an unmedicated vaginal birth if possible, but we are open to medical interventions if they become necessary for the safety of the baby or mother. We would like continuous labor support, encouragement with breathing and positioning, and an advocate who can help communicate our preferences with medical staff. Delayed cord clamping, immediate skin-to-skin contact, and support with initiating breastfeeding are very important to us. For the provider, we are looking for someone who is a certified doula (such as DONA or CAPPA certified) with at least 3–5 years of experience and multiple births attended. We strongly prefer someone who is calm under pressure, highly communicative, and experienced with hospital births. It would be a bonus if the provider speaks Spanish as a second language to help support extended family members. The care recipient is a newborn, and we are first-time parents. We would appreciate guidance on feeding (primarily breastfeeding), soothing techniques, and establishing healthy sleep habits. There are no known special needs at this time, but we value a provider who can adapt if circumstances change. Additional duties we are interested in include light housekeeping related to the baby (washing bottles, baby laundry), meal prep for the mother during postpartum recovery, and some support with sleep training or establishing routines. Flexibility in scheduling and availability for overnight support a few times per week would be ideal. |

1. Plan to give birth at UIHC most likely planned c section related to previous full term loss. 2. $1500-$1750 Budget 3. A planned C-section birth plan focused on creating a "gentle" or family-centered experience by requesting preferences like dimmed lights, music, a clear drape to view the birth, immediate skin-to-skin contact, and delayed cord clamping. Gentle C-Section Plan: Environment: Request dimmed lights, a quiet room, or to play your own playlist. Support: Designate your partner or support person to be present. Comfort: Request IV lines, blood pressure cuffs, and EKG leads be placed on your non-dominant arm to allow for easier holding of the baby. Visualization: Ask for a clear drape (or to have the mirror/screen lowered) to see the baby being born. During the Birth Communication: Ask the staff to explain what is happening, and consider requesting they tell you when they are ready to begin. Skin-to-Skin: Request immediate skin-to-skin contact in the operating room (OR) if no medical issues arise. Cord Clamping: Ask for delayed cord clamping, allowing the cord to stop pulsing before it is cut. Bonding: Request that the baby stays with you while the incision is being sutured, rather than going immediately to a warmer. Immediately After Procedures: Request that newborn assessments (weighing, measuring, cleaning) be delayed until after your first hour of skin-to-skin bonding. Feeding: Express your desire to breastfeed in the operating room or recovery room. Cord Care: Mention if you plan to keep the placenta. Looking for a compassionate doula who has experience supporting moms with previous infant loss and traumatic birth experiences |

Hopsital birth I'd like to have my labor photographed or filmed. I'd like to move around freely during labor. I'd like intermittent or wireless fetal monitoring. I'd like to let my water break naturally. I'd like to use these labor props: I PLAN ON HAVING A NATURAL BIRTH NO MEDICATION PLEASE DONT OFFER. DELIVERY When it's time to push, I'd like to be allowed to push when and how I feel I should. I'd like to choose the position I deliver in. I'd like to touch my baby's head as it crowns. If I have a c-section, I'd like to have the drape lowered so I can view the birth. 3000 is my budget |
