They also say that: "for doula services to be covered by the Health Plan, the doula must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and a Tax Identification Number (TIN)." And that "the doula must file a claim for reimbursement." 3. I'm still thinking this through and would like a little help with this! I want a hospital birth. I want to keep and capsule my placenta. I'd like to labor for awhile at home and to try to not use an epidural, but am open to it if I feel I need it. I want to be able to move around. I want soft music playing and a gentle atmosphere. I'm looking for a birth doula who can operate from a hospital. Ideally if they are registered with Los Robles hospital that would be amazing as I could cover it with insurance. Otherwise I will have to pay out of pocket and while I want support, birth is expensive. I want someone to be three throughout the birth and coach me through it as this is my first baby and I'm trying to do a natural birth in the hospital. I have an amazing midwife who operates out of Los Robles so we'll be doing that there. My ideal midwife would be spiritual - have sound bowls or suggestions for good music, sounds, breathing techniques, positions and natural herbs, oils and yoni steams to help bring a baby into this world in the most natural way possible given the circumstances.
