Hi! I’m Kate. A mama of 3 and a birth doula! I’m from Baltimore MD and work with families doing hospital or home birth!

Recent review

I had the pleasure of working with Kate and her mother Margie during the labor and delivery of my daughter. Kate was my Doula and her mother was my birth photographer. They make one amazing duo! I had planned on a home water birth and unfortunately after 30 hours of unmedicated labor at home it turned into a hospital transfer and then an emergency cesarian surgery. Kate and her mother stayed in contact with me throughout the day when I knew I was in early labor and then got to my home promptly after she received the call that things were quickly progressing. Kate was so knowledgeable on different comfort measures for me during my labor. She was compassionate and extremely supportive during the whole entire experience! She even sent me a lot of information prior to my daughters arrival regarding helpful tips, body positioning and things I could do prior to early labor and through out to help me during every stage. Her mother is so kind, empathetic and takes beautiful pictures! I will cherish the moments she captured for our family forever. Margie even came to the hospital with us and stayed at the hospital not knowing if she would or would not be able to come back in to our room in order to take pictures after my surgery. I could not recommend hiring them more! Thank you both so much for being a part of my birth journey! XX- Alisha Rutherford

Hi! I'm Jen. I am passionate about birth! I have been a Certified Birth Doula for 11 years, and a labor and delivery registered nurse for 2 years. I have seen firsthand how important education is in the birthing space, and am also an Evidence Based Birth Instructor. I also love cats, gardening, family time, blending herbal remedies, and hanging out with my friends drinking coffee.

It has been an incredible privilege to work with new families, helping them ensure a positive start and reach their full potential as a family unit. As your postpartum doula, I will be your reliable companion, guiding you through this transformative journey. Together, we will identify your child’s needs and learn effective ways to care for your new baby and yourself. Before becoming a doula, I dedicated 17 years of my life to teaching early childhood. During this time, I managed a classroom of infants and toddlers, balancing my care for the infants with curriculum development for preschool-aged children. I had the privilege of meeting and working with many young families navigating this new phase of life, which fueled my passion for providing more direct support to these new families. I am honored to bring my extensive experience to the families I now serve as a doula. I consider myself a mentor to these new parents, empowering them to find the tools and techniques to make their first days and weeks with their new baby as comfortable as possible. Additionally, I am trained in infant soothing and calming techniques, and I hold CPR and First Aid Certification, ensuring that I can provide the best possible care for infants under my care. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to assist you in having the best possible start as a new family.

HEY THERE TIRED MAMA, I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU’RE GOING THROUGH! Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Erin McCormick. After becoming a mommy of my handsome son, Quaid, I was just as uncertain as you probably are of how to get this little human to sleep through the night. I was exhausted from getting up at all hours of the night. To make matters worse, everyone kept telling me, “nap when the baby naps.” NAP? My baby wasn’t napping long enough for me to fall asleep. What were they talking about? After countless hours of research, reading MANY baby sleep books, and trial & error. We finally decided to work with a 1:1 sleep consultant to learn how to get the most out of the important everyday task of sleep. After learning healthy sleep habits, Quaid started sleeping through the night (11 to 12 hours uninterrupted) at five months old! He also started taking long naps during the day! I decided to become a certified pediatric sleep consultant so I could pay it forward and help other mamas do the same. Through teaching my child to sleep better, I not only gained a happy, energetic, fun, loving child, I also gained my husband back. We have “us” time again. I have the energy to do the things I love again. I have time to enjoy those things or just relax when my child takes a nap or is in bed at a reasonable time. You can do the same!

***FOR INQUIRIES EMAIL***: Hello@mothersisterfriend.org Site:https://www.MotherSisterFriend.org When Brittany became a mom at 19, she recalls feeling afraid, unprepared, and disconnected from herself. She lacked a strong support system, and self-advocacy was a foreign concept to her. All she knew was to follow doctors' orders. So, she suffered through her first HG pregnancy without treatment, showed up at the hospital at the first sign of contractions, and birthed her baby via cesarean for reasons unknown. When she became pregnant with her second child a few years later, she was more intentional in finding a care team to support her in achieving her birth goals. She hired doula-midwives from whom she received all of her prenatal care. Despite Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) and other stressors negatively impacting that pregnancy as well, having an attentive and supportive care team that centered her needs and respected her bodily autonomy influenced a more positive and empowering experience. Inspired by her journey, Brittany felt compelled to pay it forward. She believes everyone deserves a safe, informed and empowering birthing experience. Recognizing the implications of birthing while Black in America, she actively challenges coercive healthcare practices and, alongside many dedicated birth workers, strives to improve the state of Black maternal and infant healthcare.

So many good things I could say but my experience with Brittany was nothing short of amazing!!!! My birth didn't go as planned so instead of a vaginal unmedicated birth I had to have a cesarean. However Brittany explained everything step by step which made me relax a bit. She also helped me prepare a birthing plan for a vaginal as well as a cesarean birth. I've never felt so empowered. One of the very few people that I would entrust with my son while I showered and took some much needed rest with my door shut! No worries at all. A meal prepared and a clean house. As Moms we need our village!!! Thank you for everything! 💙💚 Round 2 lol

Working with Victoria was the best decision we made as new parents! We initially hired her for six weeks, but she was so amazing that we extended her contract for four more months. We honestly don’t know how we would’ve gotten through that time without her. Victoria is not only super professional but also so warm and personable. From day one, she felt like part of the family. She always listened to what we needed, respected our parenting choices, and gave helpful advice without ever being pushy. It was clear how much she cared, and her calm, supportive presence made such a difference during those hectic first months. And let me just say, I don't think we could have done it without her! Our little one adored her, and she had this magical way of soothing even the crankiest moments. Her overnight care was a game changer for us—we finally got some much-needed sleep, knowing our baby was in the best hands. If you’re thinking about hiring a postpartum doula, don’t even hesitate. Victoria is incredible, and we feel so lucky to have had her with us during such an important time. She made everything so much easier and more enjoyable!

Nashare Butts

Hello, my name is Nashare and I am the owner of That Community Helper. I am trained as birth and postpartum doula, but currently focusing on postpartum clients. I graduated college with a degree in Early Childhood Education and it made me realize that the best foundation for a good early childhood is through the mother/parents. I believe that parents have lost the support through the entire perinatal phase and it is my desire and goal to make sure the parents build confidence in themselves. In my practice I believe in creating a compassionate, education-driven, supportive environment during a very sensitive time in parents’ lives. In my free time, I like to paint, draw, and read.
